Wow.

They shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt on anything. Just theatrics. Paul knows what'll work. May have even been premeditated dive and blow.
1 minute prior to this Rodgirguez was sent flying and landed on the ice. He laid down like a p***y, then ended up fine scoring 2 goals.

I have no doubt that Maurice and the Cats KNEW that the next cry session on the ice would garner Ref sympathy and a call. And we saw exactly that as the refs “reviewed” this “knee” for all of 10 seconds and considered it a major.

Well Mr 5, if you and @Morpheus would like to share the honors...

On behalf of the board - sorry @Cloned you're back in the press box. 😬

I am joking, @Soli has carried the flag this long and got us this far. But I will do as the forum meisters request other than letting @Cloned date my daughter. She finally has a boyfriend now, what would be funny if it were actually @Cloned

Edit - I just realized that I am 14 posts away from hitting 50,000 which proves A- I have no life and B- post 50,000 has to be something special...like a GDT.

This is an angle that the refs didn't have.

I'm not a fan of spending so much time dwelling on the reffing. It's a very bad sign when it takes up so much oxygen, and it's a loser mindset. I suppose it's okay when fans do it but I'm always glad when the players dismiss this.

The team will start to win when they play better. A couple bad calls wasn't a big factor

Win or lose we made the SCF. We finished ahead of the other Canadian teams and our core now has cup final experience

In all seriousness, I'm just being an asshole trying to lighten the mood. I appreciate all of y'all. Thanks for doing what you do @Soli @Cloned

None of what we do as fans matters and that's why my entire day isn't arranged around any superstitions at all. I'm also definitely trying to convince you guys and not myself.

Send help I can't live like this.

Such a trash call. Fried and the panel said it didn't warrant a 5. I don't even know if it warranted a 2. Foegele never sticks his knee outside of his body's direction. Usually to knee someone that's worth a penalty, you are sticking your knee out, going out of your way to CLIP someone. This is Foegele going straight on, in fact watching it in motion he's trying to make a poke check play on the puck, and the Panthers guy jumps out of the way exposing his THIGH (not knee) that got hit.

We CAN and we WILL.
Struds must be on drugs he said on GYB podcast it was dirty and he would have went after Foegele if he was still playing lol.

THese guys also just shrug off any bad games by refs

Just have to look at it as 1 game at a time, don't look at it as the Oilers needing to win 4 out of 5 and I hope the team does the same. Win Game 3 and it's a 2-1 series and is....well....series on at that point.

Need to see some desperation from the Oilers, it's been shockingly lacking the last 4 periods. It's the Stanley Cup finals Oilers, act like it's important. Drai in particular who has been floating through the first 2 games for some odd reason, same with Bouchard who has been way too casual moreso than usual. If they go out meekly like they did in the first 2 games that reflects horribly on the leadership so lets hope we're not having that conversation late Thursday Night.

See in my above post item A- I have no life.

Edit - I joined in 2016 so it’s more like 95 months or something like that. Joined originally to get into some hockey pools. Then wound up running the keeper pool for like 6 years. A lot of posts went there.

13 posts away now.

These guys are all Ref apologists. Most media members are. Cause when you’re a local “reporter” or “media” you have to keep an air of anti-whining for your reputation in order to operate in the NHL. Where any whining about rules or refs comes off as sour grapes.

I don’t understand why people and media have such a hard time saying “the officiating was an absolute joke last night and well below the standards acceptable in the championship series, but it wasn’t the reason the Oilers lost last night by any means.”

Both can be true, but some need to take a side for whatever reason and it’s nothing short of annoying from either side of the ledger.

So the hacking will go on just long enough for Florida to win four games? Ridiculous but true.

I think the only way to fight it is to start diving and fake crying as well.

It's not like you can make a mockery of a mockery.
Finally an Edmonton media member grows some balls and calls it out. In Boston and Toronto the media would be doing a full court press calling it out.

I know they could totally call it out with reason and still get the point across. It’s this culture of anti whining and assumption of non bias that permeates the League.

So we’re essentially going to get f***ed out of a fair shot at the Cup by the Refs.

God f***in damnit I hate this League.

I’m really hoping we can get some good players to sign cheap for one year to take a shot with us next year. Win or lose, it’s gotta be appealing to at least a few good players.
