Hey Zach - please make your next book about the "real" state of our lockerroom. No holds barred.

Thanks for giving 100% every shift. Wish we had more of you.

Gonna miss you Hyman and not just because you have a cool name! I wish you the best of luck and hope you can live up to the massive contract!!

Thanks Zach for chasing every last penny so i don't have to watch you waste 20 m of ice time a game .

Enjoy Edm , i heard it's a lovely city . lol ,

We let Zach go at peak sentimental value. I'll say he's come a long way from rookie darkhorse to perceived big line anchor to jack of all trades to our blue collar representative on a white collar team. That said, I'm glad he's getting the bag and I'm also glad it's not Toronto that's paying it.

Even with the worst two UFA contracts signed…. I’m not sure we aren’t better with those two instead of Marner.
It's true, I think what people miss is you can add one dimensional players easily for cheap and insulate them with Coleman and Hyman types. Also marner would have a return would he not?

You could tell Hyman had his mind set on leaving Toronto after we lost the Montreal series in his post game/season press conference.

Can you blame him though? Hyman has done everything he could and more and yet we still have greedy f***s who robbed our rookie GM for every penny they possibly could without giving a flying f*** out on the ice and no room to really improve the roster.

Good for Hyman on leaving this dumpster fire while cashing in. Smart move and best of luck!

guy was 110% on the tee most night great person and a gamer however i think that had his value bolstered by being stapled to some of our best during his duration but nothing but good things

he went to Edmonton cause darnel Nurse has already taken enough of his brain cells and soul away. everytime they were within 5 feet of each other nurse was trucking and hyman was flying

will miss the guy but i cant wait till they see a pattern. 2 on one with mcdavid he will wait waits and wrap around

Man Colaiacovo is annoying. If Zach was willing to take A LOT less to stay in Toronto, he'd still be a Leaf. Period. I really think it's stupid to lay this entirely on the Leafs.

Leafs apparently offered $32 mil over 8 years vs the Oilers $38.5 over 7 years. Zach worked his tail off, sacrificing his body. He earned the right as much as anyone to take the higher offer. Glad to see so many Leafs fans respect his decision even though we'll miss him. I too wish him the best.

Having said that, I think this is one of those big mistake contracts Brian Burke talks about. Zach is 29 with significant battering of his body. There is little chance he can continue to play the way he has the last five years for another seven years. Arthritis and war wounds pile up and set in to slow him down and reduce his ability to play physically. Shorter term, he'll definitely help the Oilers. That seems to be the way these kinds of deals go.
