No link but it's a done deal. 7 years x 5.5M to Edmonton.

I'll miss the guy. One of the few who played his heart out for the blue and white, he really turned me into a fan of his after the first couple of seasons being overplayed by Babcock.

Wish him the best with the Oilers! Hope the fans don't turn on him for Holland's mistake.

I don't know which one is worse, his new contract or the music in this video.

Anyway, thanks Hyman, but you have chosen money, and you have always somehow reminded me to Babcock, so I'm more than fine with this.

You were a warrior Zach. You will be missed dearly. Never wanted you gone but 5.5 is way too rich for my liking and 7 years is just suicide.

Good on you for cashing in. I'm glad Oilers and Katz gave you the retirement deal.

Take care Zachary.

34 and 16, heart and soul is gone. Wake the f*** up.

He worked his tail off. I always root for players who give their all to cash in. It's a core principle of mine to cheer for hard work, effort and sacrifice to be rewarded.

Will a new father sacrifice as much in Edmonton as he did in Toronto after a year or two? Time will tell. He was an important piece for this team during his time here.

Like Kadri before him, never got out of the first round, so ultimately it is what it is. With the salaries paid to our core, this situation was always going to arise, we just assumed it would happen after some playoff success.

Best of luck.

Good bye Zachary you won me over after your terrible 2017 year

Hard worker, improved his hands, shot and puck protection every year he was on the team

Worked with basically anyone. JT, Matthews, 3rd line.

He'll be a 50-60 point guy for half his deal before a swift fall off.

Best of luck to him, he's a true warrior and a guy who puts his body on the line

Good for Zach! Make that money, you only have a small window.

I fear that contract won't age well but good for him. He will score 30+ goals with Connor

It'll be weird seeing the next guy on the Leafs wear #11; I'll probably always associate that number with Hyman. The guy was a warrior and played the game the right way, night-in and night-out. Plus it was awesome seeing his incredible amount of improvement over the years as he blossomed into a 20+ goal scorer.

He will probably kill it production-wise in Edmonton. I wouldn't be surprised if he smashed the 50 point barrier playing with McDavid and sniffed 30 goals. Best of luck to him.

I really do wish the best for Hyman. It was not a deal we could ever come close to matching. Hyman needed to be a shade over 4mill AAV at the maximum to make it work in TOR. I am actually happy to see that the sides for so far apart, because I really do think we would have settled on upper 4's if Hymans ask was a little lower. Which likely would have meant going 8 years on the term. Realistically you just cant give middle six talent 8 years. It never works out in your favor.

I honestly hope he plays up to that contract, I am going to be pulling for him. I think we have seen him take significant strides in his game the last 2 years and has really developed his skill level to compliment his work ethic. He was far from just a grinder in his last 2 seasons. Very much a huge huge part of our team, and he will be missed immensely.

In this era of enigmatic leaf talent, this guy's effort was the one constant we had. I will never cheer against Zach for that reason alone. Unless he is playing the Leafs of course.

All the best Zach, you earned your payday. A true warrior

Best of luck Hyman, you gave us something we lacked from the Clark years. All the best to you and your Golden Lamborghinis.

Zach was my favourite Leafs player as I admired his effort and his compete level and his consistency.

He is getting paroled early for good behaviour, having his salary doubled and well as his term, and gets rewarded to ride shotgun now with the best player in the game in McDavid.

Toronto's loss is now Hyman and Edmonton's gain.

Really interested to see who the Leafs replace him with, as he was on pace for 30+ goals and and only Matthews, Tavares and Nylander scored more goals than Zach the past 2 years.

Good luck to Hyman, the improvement he showed to get this payday is remarkable. Now he gets to ride with McDavid. Hope he does well but wins nothing (kind of the story here too) :D. The contract is scary and I'm glad he got paid somewhere else. Hopefully no more radio ads here either.

Good player who chose to chase a few extra dollars on the other side of the country.
Oh well.
Contract is horrendous and we couldn’t do that. You need to find player like Hyman. Not pay them.
We may have already found the replacement gem in Bunting.
Good luck.

Sucks to lose him but we couldn't give him that deal. Hard working guy who left it all on the ice. More than you can say about most of this team.
