Putting as much effort into this as the Leafs have this road trip. Hoping they turn it around because they are running out of time to prove people wrong.
Wait, 8 track video? Not sure if I'll watch this or some Matlock reruns that I have on 8 track.
This is what happens when you stay status quo and don’t make any sweeping changes with your management group or a significant upgrade to your roster as a whole. It also doesn’t help that the stars of this team for the most part are performing like even lesser than AHL versions of themselves this season.
There’s maybe two or three players that have shown me any signs that they’re putting forth their best efforts on a regular basis.
Tavares, Samsonov, Kampf and sometimes Nylander.
Matthews played what I feel to be one of his worst performances as a Toronto Maple Leaf on Saturday night. Marner has shown some decent shifts here and there, but largely as been ineffective. Bunting has been terrible in every sense of the word, Keefe has no earthly idea what to do with him.
Engvall, Kerfoot, Jarnkrok, Holl, Aube-Kubel, Aston-Reese, Malgin have all been dumpster fires this season and offer next to nothing of imminent value to this team as a whole.
This team just doesn’t have a good enough team to compete for a playoff spot, I just don’t see them getting past this. Even if Matthews and Marner get out of theit funks, I just don’t think it’ll be enough to overcome how awful our bottom six is and how many nights we will see our top two lines minus Tavares take a night off on a regular basis.
The funny part is I had zero excitement and hype heading into the season for the first time in almost 20 years and we’ve had some awful, awful teams during that same time frame.
Even if they somehow win tonight, not really that exciting or what I would call a turnaround, Anaheim has like one win in eight or nine games.
Kallgren gets the call, with this pop cap offense the Leafs have, maybe Anaheim takes this one. Kallgren is terrible in every facet imaginable, even as a third stringer, he’s much worse than that, way worse. I mean, he can’t even get his percentage at .890% for his career, has a career GAA of well over 3.25. I won’t even bother watching any of the games that he’s in, it’s a waste of my time.
I am watching Columbo right now.Not sure if I'll watch this or some Matlock reruns that I have on vhs.
It's absolutely astonishing how we as fans can see this. I've been harping some of the same words on here and another forum for a long time even before this season with this core and Dubas' screwups and signings, but management is completely out of touch with reality. I've been a diehard Leaf fan for over 50 years and I too have lost interest and don't watch every minute of every game like I used to. Till some of the core goes and also the 3 in management nothings going to change. I hope they lose tonight so maybe just maybe something gives. This is what happens when you stay status quo and don’t make any sweeping changes with your management group or a significant upgrade to your roster as a whole.
