I said recently that we may all question JT's personality for leading a team, but never question his commitment, how hard he works or how hard he tries once the puck drops.

Too bad his contract is such a burden as it overshadows almost everything he does because Tavares overall is exactly the type of player (slow skating aside) this team needs more of, not less.

I'm not a really a Tavares guy, but at least he plays the game honestly in straight lines and seems to be trying to get to the net to make things happen in clearly definable hockey terms.

I look at our dynamic duo and I just see the little pump fakes coming through the neutral zone, the soft touches on the perimeter and I just don't get why they're trying to finesse out of a slump. It's like they want to get back on the highlight reel more than accomplishing anything.
