New Halo Effect:

Hey, that's former In Flames dudes, all of them.

I'm going to see a real west coast trio of super bands soon, Arch Enemy, In Flames and Soilwork on the same night. I's gonna be a blast.

That's a dream lineup. Would LOVE to see Soilwork live. One of my fav bands. Was pretty bummed when Dirk left and David passed. And In Flames is literally the best sounding live band I've ever heard. Saw them with HELLYEAH a few years back. Phenomenal show.

Arch Enemy debuting a new song at the first show of the Rising from the north tour in Glasgow.
They are doing a european tour and then a month in Mexico.
The tour also features In Flames and Soilwork, three great iconic Swedish metal bands. More bang for the buck is hard to imagine.

Alyssa sings a tiny bit clean vocals. It is audience footage and the sound quality is what it is.

"Couldn’t be more excited to announce this tour. It’s been a long time coming and we are finally back together again on stage with our friends in ARCH ENEMY and SOILWORK. We plan to bring you an unforgettable night of melody and mayhem! This is some of Sweden's finest - a tour you simply should not miss!!!" – Anders Fridén, In Flames

“What an insane Swedish Metal extravaganza across Europe in 2024! We share a lot of history with In Flames and Soilwork, going all the way back to the very early days of Arch Enemy. We’re extremely stoked to be doing this special tour with our Swedish comrades - let’s go!!!” – Michael Amott, Arch Enemy

"Finally we can release the great news of one of the greatest tour line ups to hit the streets in at least a decade! We are super excited and we are pretty damn sure that this is a tour that a lot of people have been longing for.. We go way back with both ARCH ENEMY and IN FLAMES, so prepare yourself for an absolute legendary Swedish melodic metal assault!” – Björn Strid, Soilwork

She does not make it difficult to watch her perform.

It only took 68.5 years, but Wintersun's "Time II' has been out for a month or two. It's good. Not better than Time I ... but you spend 18 years or whatever it was working on the follow up album it will probably never live up to its predecessor. That said, I dig it.

Teemu joining Megadeth full time probably put a slight damper on the release date I'm guessing.

Grand Magus is back and killing it! The first video, honestly, should have been their lead single and had a proper video done, it rocks.

Sucks there aren't any Minnesota dates. Last few years it's been rough being a hard rock & metal fan in this state. We're getting passed over on a lot of tours here. Not sure, but I was told it's because we're lacking in venues that will service certain specific sizes. No Dream Theater dates on their current tour either. Very bummed. Been a fan of theirs since before LaBrie joined and have never been able to line up seeing them when they've come to town.

Because @Sweetnut has ignored my Swedish metal post with Grand Magus he has me a little bit in my feelings. Ok guys, top 3 songs that you have some emotionall attachment to?

#'s .5 are kind of tied. Sapphire is easily my favorite song of all time..... but Deep Green Sea percussion is amazing. Both have lyrics that hit way to close to home. BUT. #3 with Opeth, I just love this song so much. I was in Iraq, singing/screaming in my truck while my guys had mid rats at whatever shitty FOB we were on. Perfect mix of new/old peth...

Good to see you're posting about my friend Ludde, the hardest working drummer in town!
He's the drummer for Spiritual Beggars, and singer Janne "JB" was singing for Beggars 2002-2010 between Spice and Apollo.
I'm gonna post more about Ludde and his different bands when I have more time.
(It's been a busy week)

I love Tom Englund. Just...to me, doesn't fit well with Redemption with the stuff I've heard. Now that Fates is on what seems to be an indefinite hiatus, would be nice to see a situation where Ray comes back to them.

Yeeeeah, honestly not sure I can narrow it down to 3.

Probably just outside everyone's wheelhouse with this, but 2 of the 3 new tunes Tremonti has released for the new album are f***ing amazing. The other one of the 3 isn't bad, just doesn't kick my ass by any means. These two however, are outstanding.

Today you've got a once in a lifetime opportunity to go and see one of metal's living legends!
He's playing at the Fillmore Minneapolis tonight. Don't miss this chance, or you're gonna regret it.

He's been one of my all time favorite singers since the day I first heard him 38 years ago.
From Denmark, his band Mercyful Fate is one of the most influental bands in the occult genre.
His band, named after himself, Kind Diamond, features swedish super guitarists Andy LaRoque and Mike Wead. Also Pontus Egberg from the Poodles on base.

The opening act Overkill is also a legendary band, and is itself worth the price of admission!
Get your tickets now!

All of his albums are concept albums, ghost stories, and he even has grandma on stage!

And Overkill is easily one of the best thrash metal bands.

King has invited danish black metal/folk singer Myrkur as a guest vocalist on stage.

I have tried. I have tried on a ton of occasions and have had so many friends over the years that were massive fans of his try to get me into his music. Unfortunately, this is one of the bands we'll have to agree to disagree on. I just can't get into his voice. I love the music. I love the progressive elements and concept album ideas. But, of all the singers that get into that falsetto voice, his just doesn't do it for me. That and I've seen several interviews of his that really turned me off to him. He and Yngwie seem to have a similar sense of self importance.

Overkill was one of my early intros to thrash. Imagine my extremely religious father finding my tape copy of Overkill's 'F**k You!' EP hidden in my room. That was not a very fun day.

[EDIT]: Also, The Poodles were great. Shame they disbanded. They also did a great cover of Depeche Mode's 'It's No Good' that as a fan of both bands, I really like a lot.
