what a ridiculous post lol. as posted above the Canes have already gotten plenty of people in Russia to pay to see them. And Russian hockey fans would pay to see exhibition with any NHL team, especially ones with Russian players on the team -- oh by the way the Canes have quite a few of those, and more in the pipeline.Habs and ska will probably play a preseason series some time in the next five years.
Nobody in Russia would pay to see the canes. Probably couldn't even pay them to watch the canes.
Habs still the historic draw globally.
so not now now? then when?
Habs fans are even worse. Not much but they are.No it f***ing isn't. Jesus Christ habs fans are somehow giving leafs fans a run for their money as the most insufferable and ill informed on this site.
You say that like it's a good thing.Habs and ska will probably play a preseason series some time in the next five years.
Because it is a good thing. You say that like it's a good thing.
Yes, that's the prospect from SKA St. Petersburg everyone has been dying to see.I don’t make many hype threads, but this story seems worth watching.
Alex Nikishin is widely viewed as the best prospect currently outside the NHL. Carolina has waited patiently after drafting him 69th (nice) in 2020, as he has been under KHL contract and ineligible to sign an NHL deal.
With SKA being eliminated by Dynamo today, Nikishin is officially NHL-eligible and expected to make his North American debut soon.
6’4” LHD, plays all situations, known for laying huge hits while also having an impact on the scoreboard. KHL record for points by a Russian-born defenseman. SKA all-time leader in defenseman scoring. Captained SKA (a team with Demidov, Kuznetsov, Grigorenko, DeAngelo, Zaitsev) as a 22-23 year old. Was traded to SKA for nine players.
If he comes as advertised, he has a Pronger-like profile. This could be one of the more interesting mid-season additions from the KHL, reminiscent of Panarin coming over in mid-April. Thought it would be worth a thread given the amount of lead-up to his debut.
Is he gonna start on the third pair ? Any PP time ?
he'll be an extra in case of injuriesBrindamour favors his vets, so if he gets to the US in time, he'll probably get a game or two at the end of the regular season when guys like Ghost and Orlov will sit, and then in the playoffs, he'll be an extra in case of injuries
Yes, that's the prospect from SKA St. Petersburg everyone has been dying to see.

Edit: Found a better one.

That’s gonna hurt SKA. Not only are they losing a superstar forward, but they are losing too a first pairing defenseman.
