Given the money players earn, if you at a solid player like a Hansen you walk away with 8 figures. Bieksa did very well, thus does the HNIC on Sat and PO. Limited travel and not as frequent.

Realistically, it's the Gadzic's and the Tomlinson's of the world that will sign on to do team color and analysis throughout the season. Ones who don't make much during their playing careers.

In the preseason last year Seravalli was very positive about the Canucks, consistently saying before the season started that the Canucks would make the playoffs, indicating no doubt at a time when other prognisticators weren't nearly so high on the team.
