Really dont like this deal. Gotta another first which is nice. Why is the 2nd is conditional. Come on. You are giving away are captain, IN conference and hes signed next season. ugh. Who are these prospects??
 
Great. Now we'll have two months of people complaining because we didn't get Point or Sergachev.
 
We couldn’t get Sergachev. Couldn’t get Foote. Howden is the best prospect we added? Yes, Hajek is a good prospect as well, but not top tier, at all. Tampa’s late 1st, conditional 2nd and Namestnikov for Miller?

I will bet Miller’s NYR production was better than Namestnikov’s will be unless he finds great chemistry somewhere. He was playing with Kucherov and Stamkos and had chemistry so he looked great but we don’t have those guys. It feels like:

Miller for Namestnikov

McDonagh for Howden, Hajek, 1st, cond 2nd.


Bad. Flat out bad.
 
Now we get to watch all the former Rangers hoist a cup due to better coaching/front office while we deal with a bunch of late firsts and scrubs.
 
Howden is a really, really good prospect. Forget where he was drafted, this kid has been trending up, big-time, since his draft season.

The way I look at it is that I really like the deal for McD alone. I think that I, like others, simply overrated Miller's trade value. You and I both love Howden as a prospect, if I recall.

I have to think that Miller just had minimal value. I can't imagine his lack of effort and inconsistent play was not noticeable to other GMs around the league.
 
Looks like my concerns from page 1 were confirmed. 2nd tier stuff is all the Rangers could get in all their deals.
 
Guys, McD was not getting Sergachev or Marner. I don't know how else to say it. No one was expecting that except people on this board who kept wanting to put their fingers in their ears and hear none of it.

I'm sorry if that's harsh, but it's reality.

Don't like this at all. Sorry if I'm repeating myself, I cant' tell when/if anything gets posted with the site in flames.

We had a guy we didn't have to move and we dealt with a team that needed to add someone. Somehow we caved and didn't get a top prospect back.

So, essentially this breaks down as:

Howden, Hajek, 1st, and conditional 2nd (could become a 1st if TB wins the cup this year or next) for McDonagh?

(Assuming Miller essentially equals Namestnikov.)

I like what I read about Howden, but based exclusively on what you guys are saying about the prospects, sounds like we didn't get enough. Hoping to hear more leak out after the fact...
