I like the deal. Moves Bass ahead of Richards in bullpen. Pop isnt a bad arm either. Definitely will take a spot in bullpen. Probably Bando.

Groshans wRC+ in 280ish PA In AAA is 82. I know it’s small but maybe he’s just not good enough for the pros. Rather get pros than a what if.

Then you still have Garcia and Cimber. Which is pretty good.

Exactly. Pushing Phelps, Garcia, and Cimber into more situational roles is very valuable. They were all getting overexposed. If Pop can fit in with those 3 then even better.

Don't hate it, but it's Atkins tinkering at the edges when the team either needs a heavy bat or a legit starter. Still time but it's cutting things close.

We are top 5 and even top 3 offence in all of baseball in most categories. Another bat is not a requirement. I only wanted someone like Happ to provide some insurance in case Springer needs an IL stint.

My main issue with Groshans is that he’s 23 with no in game power, when power was supposed to be his top tool.

If we go out and get happ+ Robertson or Iglesias + Synder that's very tidy business depending on cost.

Our BP would be improved in the playoffs to by getting Noah to come out of it. Let's see.

Happ and Starter is still in play. There is time still. Happ effectively replaces Zimmer at a higher rate. A starter that is more consistent then Kikuchi would be nice. I want to see him in bullpen throwing fastball after fastball at 96+.

Got some legit BP help with maybe one of the best that was available in Bass. Pop is an underrated add too. Groshans is barely hanging on to prospect status

Yes, you're right. We don't need another top flight starter, we just need more depth. I guess any team could use some more pitching depth in their starting rotation.

Anthony Bass is the good one, Pop is actually meh. Just by looking up their baseball reference pages, tho.

94-97 sinker, touches 99. Throws it 80% of the time and gets a high dose of GBs and weak contact. Clay Holmes-esque

Plus, you can probably use Strip out of the bullpen in the playoffs. Doesn't he have a save this year? hehe.
