Aright thats pretty tidy business now that folks have eased concerns on groshans

I figured that Jays were going after Bass but thought they'd figure out a way to include Lopez. Love his moustache.

He's almost 23 and has hit for no power the past two seasons. He just hasn't developed as expected.
Yeah he has been a disappointment but he has had a rough development path. Injuries and Covid wiped out a couple important development seasons back to back.

Hopefully things turn around for him in Miami.

Still don’t love it. Obviously Groshans value has plummeted. Hopefully Pop is really good for us for years to come.

on the plus side my phone keeps autocorrected Groshans to Grisham’s because Padres or something(I have literally never typed Grisham ever), won’t have to worry about that anymore

MLB twitter dunking on us pretty hard, but I imagine only because they remember Groshans being int he BA 100 at one point.

3 pieces for Groshans is insane value.

One thing you can say about Atkins - he finds a way to dump previously hyped prospects right when they are about to (or starting to) struggle.

Having Bass, as long as he doesn't mysteriously crater as relievers are prone to do, means the Jays can leave Romano in the closer roll and deploy Bass in the high leverage situations like Cleveland used to do with Miller.

Bass is having a great year and is signed through next season. Pop is only 25 and still has 4 years of control after this season. Groshans value has steadily been dropping and he's not a top 100 prospect anymore. This a good move all things considered. Now go get Syndergaard.

Don't hate it, but it's Atkins tinkering at the edges when the team either needs a heavy bat or a legit starter. Still time but it's cutting things close.

Bass has been more valuable than Romano this year. He’s about as good of a performing arm as you could hope for this year.

Ya I just checked his Savant page and it's better than I thought. Certainly worth a shot considering the direction Groshans was heading.
