Yeah he has been a disappointment but he has had a rough development path. Injuries and Covid wiped out a couple important development seasons back to back.He's almost 23 and has hit for no power the past two seasons. He just hasn't developed as expected.
Bass has been more valuable than Romano this year. He’s about as good of a performing arm as you could hope for this year.Bass and Pop...hmmm. I don't mind trading away Groshans. Kind of lukewarm on those two arms, though.
Having Bass, as long as he doesn't mysteriously crater as relievers are prone to do, means the Jays can leave Romano in the closer roll and deploy Bass in the high leverage situations like Cleveland used to do with Miller.
