I bet you people would have said the same about Huberdeau and Weegar at the time, not so much anymore because they know Matthew is and was worth it. Barkov is 5 years older, most teams would trade him in 2-3 years from now if it meant having Brady for his best 8 years. Like not even a question.

Yes and he's still more likely to move than Brady

Completely different scenario but if you think Barkov with 5 years left isn't enough on his own to get Brady Tkachuk, you are highly delusional.

Both brothers have a lot of dog in them with a good dose of rat. Both are good with the media and generally say the right things. Both are highly effective players who show up when it comes to the big stage. And of course they are entertaining as hell and great for hockey.

As a hockey fan I don't want to see them on the same team aside from international competition. It's fun to see two teams with a Tkachuk rather than one. I really want to see them meet in the playoffs.

I mean I am a Sens fan and if Brady demanded a trade prior to the last year of his contract I would make him sit or play but I would still trade him for Barkov in a heartbeat. That guy is a beast and a centre, on of our other centres can be traded if required.

Elaborate then.
Nothing to elaborate on, players like the Tkachuks last a long time. Their dad played the same way and made it to 38.

Why would Florida trade a player that wants to be there for a player that wants to leave and will in FA anyway. Canada can boo the US anthem all they like but it seems like all the top players regardless of nationality want to play in the US. Matthews is as good as gone I imagine too.

Keith did slow down in his 30s but was reasonably productive still. Neither Matthews or Brady are UFAs anytime soon, predicting anything 3 years down the road hockey wise is foolish.

They all want to win the Cup, which is something that just doesn't happen for Canadian teams.

Well you don’t know about Brady in the playoffs yet. It’s funny though because Keith was a routine disappearing act in the playoffs. Maybe they learned what not to do when it comes to that.

I'm both excited and a bit apprehensive at the thought of Panthers vs Sens for this reason - I still remember that crazy ridiculous game last year: an absolute clown show in the best possible way! And yes, they'll never fight each other - they'll fight everyone else but not each other.

And trading Barkov? Would absolutely never happen. The Panthers would trade everyone on their roster (including Matthew) before trading Barkov.
