So who would give 1st+ for Saros. If it's a fire sale Preds could retain 50%. Nah that would cost way too much. Duchene even at 50% will have M-NTC from next season on. Johansen at 50% could be a TDL trade. Let's say that Colorado was interested. They would have to send cap back and it would cost too much.

Colton Sissons and Saros at 50% to Vegas for Martinez, 24' 1st and Dean or Dorofeyev. That's my crazy ass offer.
Not only will I give you a first ill throw in Murray.

It is absolutely asinine that Tomasino is in the AHL while we got plugs like Cole Smith playing literally every night and other plugs like Michael McCarron and Zach Sanford and formerly Kiefer Sherwood above him. This awful start rests on Poile as well as Hynes.
Sheltering Tomasino from the mess?

Some smart team has to find a way to scoop Tomasino. Maybe they fool Poile into thinking they just need "one more piece" to get them back on the playoff track.

Minny adds a solid depth forward or a pick. But yeah the basis is definitely there

What is Minny getting in return for adding a solid depth forward or pick to a deal between Nashville and Colorado?

They've not been "blow it up"-bad. That roster has the talent to turn it around. Might need a hockey trade to shake things up but definitely not a blow it up situation.
Don't disagree with your statement either. Have they been bad, yep. Blow it up bad, probably not. I think a coaching change would be where I'd start. If not there, I'd start in the front office.

I'd give Trotz the GM position and Taylor the head coach job. That's just me though.

I could see Ottawa having real interest in Jeannot, Scissons, Trenin, Glass, Tolvanen, Ekholm, Fabbro, Carrier, and Lauzon.

Any team would obviously want Jeannot… what team would say “ ya we are good, don’t need him…”
He is good enough pljs cap hit isn’t too high where any team woild make room for him.
No way Poile trades him short of an overpayment .
Makes no sense to trade him but stranger things have happened.
Polie will threaten moves / trades if they don’t turn it around . Even if they dont turn it around , I can see a list of players not available and I’d guess Jeannot to be on that list?

Saros … same thing ?

Ekholm and McDonaugh are nice pieces but Habs are not competing

Maybe Oilers or Toronto for those?
My thoughts exactly, I'd be all in for 1 of those guys. We'd only have room for 1, not sure what they'd cost but would be a perfect replacement for Muzzin.

Trenin. Yeah. I’d love him on the Avs. He’s a beast.

Unlike Vancouver, Nashville has some really interesting middle of roster players of interest. Some fun stuff to horsetrade with.

Available:
Duchene
Ekholm
Carrier
Trenin
Sissons
Saros
Mcdonough
Johansen
You should add Grunland to this list. He’s got some value too.

Realistically for better or worse we're almost certainly stuck with Josi, Forsberg, Duchene, and Johansen until their contracts run out. I could see avenues for moving Ekholm, McDonagh, Granlund, and Sissons but the term on those makes them tricky too. As others have said I'd like to first see a coaching change before we start moving players out, but if we are having a fire sale the best guys to move are the guys in their mid-20s now who will need bigger UFA contracts before we're ready to compete again. That would be Jeannot, Saros, Carrier, Trenin, and Fabbro. I would really hate losing those guys but they likely give us the best return and we'd have a lot of money to spend in free agency once some of our bigger deals starting coming off of the books in the next few years.

Tolvanen would be a great add for leafs too, hits, blocks shots and can play up and down the lineup

Tolvanen is one guy I can see getting traded. He just doesn't seem to be appreciated or have a defined role under Hynes. He has had some looks here and there in different capacities, but for all that he looks pretty good, he never quite gains the confidence of the coach. He can shoot, and he has learned to play a strong two-way game with surprising physicality. He backchecks and hustles. But just can't seem to land a consistent gig with the team. For his low Cap hit, I think it would be a great idea for a team to try to buy low on him and see if they could win out with a change of scenery.

I don't know that the Preds are really looking for anything in particular. They are only carrying 6D with Borowiecki out, however, so maybe some depth on D would be one option.
