Looking at Nashville's capfriendly, I think they are likely to shop only Kevin Lankinen and Zach Sanford. Maybe a couple late round picks or project prospects
Tanner Jeannot and Alexandre Carrier might have some good value but I'm sure the Preds would keep them. Although, I suppose with Jeannot you could gamble that last year was a fluke and sell him for a 1st or 2nd

As a Devils fan I wouldn't mind a Trade for Colton Sissons. Don't know what the Preds would want in return though.

lol. That's not a fire sale. A fire sale means everyone is available. Need to include Josi and Forsberg there.
Players who just signed 8 year deals with full NTC don’t get moved unless they force something so that’s why they aren’t there.

These other players aren’t available either but fringier players could be moved if the trade benefits Nashville.

Not sure why anyone would trade for an older defenseman from them after the Subban and Ellis trades. Poile is the used car salesman of NHL Defensemen.

Why was Poile even trading for McDonagh when Josi and Ekholm were already on the team? It's just weird bullshit.

Would not be shocked if they got more than they gave up for him in the deal if they tried to trade him. From this seasons standpoint, it maybe did not address a need maybe. From an asset management standpoint however, they will recoup what they lost and some if they want to.

That $6.75 mil would've been better spent on a top 6 forward.
This. If he was brought in to "shake up" the defense by us then trading Ekholm it would have made more sense, but he was an expensive luxury with too much term when all we needed, at most, was someone who could eat a few more of Carrier and Fabbro's minutes. But as the "final piece" that handcuffed us in terms of the Cap when depth scoring was a much more glaring issue...bleh.

Jeannot hasn't been scoring as much this year to start, but he's still playing well and he just went toe to toe with Reaves. As much as he would be a fit for basically any team in the league is the same reason we shouldn't be trading him.

I tend to agree with the posters who have mentioned that we are in a tough spot. We can't really rebuild this team without gutting prospects to take away contracts. I don't particularly think the contracts are bad enough to warrant that, so we are probably stuck in mediocrity until we see a couple guys falling off the books and some new prospects coming in. I mean it's not exactly rocket science, but all the parts of this team that have been frustrating are the pieces we should be looking to move, and consequently people aren't interested in those pieces. Funny how that works.

The Preds this year have been absolutely deplorable and don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise.

That being said, I don't want to see any significant roster changes until Hynes is fired. He is running the team into the ground.
This. The team is playing horribly, but as long as the whole Conference is sucking like this, it's just far too early to contemplate ANY of these moves. Poile is going to have faith (misplaced or not) that they can turn it around right up until it is mathematically impossible.

So don't waste your time, folks.
