Way too hot for opening day of bow season tomorrow. :(

Maybe I'm in denial, but I'm at the moment going to go out in the morning, should be 68 - 76 from 6am to 9am. Going out in the afternoon is borderline irresponsible IMO, because if you cant find the animal until the next morning the venison will be ruined.

Recovery time is an issue but I just don't like over 70 at all for a lot of reason...I don't know how the southern guys do it.

I have hunted antelope in Wyoming in 90+ degrees on numerous occasions but that high mountain desert heat is a lot different and not nearly as oppressive as ours.

I really wanted to hunt this weekend, but resisted the urge. This morning wouldn't have been terrible (high of 73 by 9am), but I said screw it. Decided to use the day to put in a blind, laser the various distances, and go to town with the pole saw clearing some new shotgun lanes. Still enjoyable time outdoors.

Apple are dicks, and hate their preppy hipster fanpeople. The last Apple product I bought that was actually good was a Pro Tower (the massive aluminum towers).

Deer season starts soon around here, but it still seems way too warm. I'll wait for moose and hope I get my license this year.

What has two thumbs and talked his way into free NFL Sunday Ticket?

<------ THIS Guy
How?

I wouldn't mind free NHL center ice, but I'm also happy to pay for it since I love hockey as much as I do. If I got free NFL Sunday ticket, my buddy would be over here bright and early every Sunday, which would mean me waking up earlier than usual on Sunday's. :help:

Where I live, I've gotten both the Manhattan and the Philly local channels my entire life, since we're right between both cities. I go to turn on the Eagles game today and notice for some reason they took away the local Philly channels.

Called up DirecTV, asked for a supervisor (i.e. someone who can make stuff happen) and told them that unless you either restore the local Philly channels (which they cant do) so I can watch Eagles games, or give me NFL Sunday ticket for free, I will drop them and go with Comcast so I can see Eagles games. Technically they told me they cant comp me NFL Sunday ticket, but he said if I pay the $270 for Sunday ticket, then what he can do is credit me $25 per month for one year (basically a back door way to give me NFL Sunday Ticket for free). So actually, not only do I get NFL Sunday Ticket for free, but I'm coming out $30 ahead on top of that ($300 versus $270). Feels good. :handclap:

I'm glad you got your deal but really no reason for central Jeresy to have Philly stations.

Huh?

It's a 1 hour 10 minute drive to central Philly for me, and a 55 minute drive to mid-town Manhattan for me. Not much difference.

In fact, there are plenty of places in central Jersey where, if anything, you could argue they shouldn't have Manhattan stations if it could only be an either/or situation. That said, literally my entire life every TV provider has offered both town's local stations given we're right between the two cities. I'm not sure what has recently changed for DirecTV to remove Philly from the lineup, but the supervisor claimed it was a government thing (dont know if that's true though).

I disagree.

I have family on LBI and technically they're closer to Philly than New York. Most of the locals there are Philly sports team fans, more than New York teams or Devils fans. They also get both MSG/YES/SNY/New York sports channels and Comcast Philly and their channels, as well as New York local channels and Philly local channels too. Although most consider LBI as South Jersey.

I have a buddy in Manasquan and that's absolutely considered Central Jersey. It's the same thing there, although they're slightly closer to New York than Philly. I think that's like 55-60 miles from Manhattan and 65 miles from Philly. I remember when spending time down there during NFL season, there are lots of Eagles flags in front of people's houses on his block and the surrounding blocks. He was saying the Giants and Jets fans in the neighborhood were North Jersey transplants like him.

I stayed home. Checked the cameras yesterday afternoon. Same buck shows up every day during daylight hours.

I got a text from dad 20 minutes ago with pics..."Doe tagged filled from your treestand. Thanks" :madfire:

Went to a new brewery(River Rat Brewing in Columbia, SC) today with this girl I've been seeing. Very cool experience and while they're a really small one they do have a really awesome set-up there.

Just saw the video of the attack on those 3 cops tonight. I'd shocked the one guy who took the brunt of it apparently survived.

This is amazing...

Walmart is working on a self-driving shopping cart that customers would be able to hail like an Uber (private:Uber) possibly through a smartphone app. Not only has the retailer filed a patent for a cart that has a motor and video cameras, but it would be able to return itself from customers' cars to the store. The system may also help Walmart (NYSE:WMT) manage inventory by scanning store shelves to ensure products are there

It's definitely interesting, but shopping carts cost a store like $200 a pop easily. How much is Wal-Mart going to plop down for a motorized electronic cart that will be in need of constant repair to drive straight?

WMT is massive, so anything they do company wide has the advantage of giant scale to bring the overall cost of the program down. Even throwing in maintenance and repair costs, the carts will eliminate the jobs of the parking lot attendant making $12/hour when they're open, plus their healthcare and 401k benefits & safety net & social security taxes if they're full-time. I'm sure they'll be the priciest shopping carts the world has known, but I bet they can make the math work for them.
