I said it a month ago, and everyone laughed. But they are soon in a playoff position, making big gains the last several weeks.

The team is going to gel over this push, and I’m getting my hopes up for playoffs but gotta temper my expectations and remember meaningful games were the goal- good on Pierre for recognizing this season can be more though.

They have one of the toughest schedule to end the season. Isles, Flaps and Pens have easier schedules. Sabres about the same. They could do it but it will be tight.

But, yes- I've been impressed with the Sens lately. Theyre on fire. Lots of teams battling for those final two spots, but they improved the most at the TDL.

They have one of the toughest schedule to end the season. Isles, Flaps and Pens have easier schedules. Sabres about the same. They could do it but it will be tight.

If it makes you feel any better, the Sabres have a tougher schedule, I believe.

They've got a very difficult schedule, especially down the stretch. These are their last 16 games:

Toronto x2
Tampa x2
Boston
New Jersey
Colorado
Edmonton
Pittsburgh
Florida x2
Buffalo
Columbus
Philadelphia

8 of 16 those games are against the top 5 teams in the east. Only 5 games against non-playoff teams, and 3 of those are against Florida and Buffalo.

They need to make hay while they can.

Depends on what metric you use, but yeah, they're about the same overall regardless of them. (Avg opponent ranking has the Sens as tougher, more fancy stuff has the Sabres, in both case by a negligible margin).

Also, what would make me feel better is if the Sens finished as low as possible without having to switch the pick they traded for Chychrun for their 2024 one.

Once again the Senators early season struggles will end up being their demise.

Since the turn of the new year I believe they have a top-5 record in the league.

The rest of their schedule outside 3-4 games will be a real test for them.

They play CHI, VAN, PHI and CBJ each once more but all the other games are full of playoff/playoff bubble teams.

They've been good of late though.
