Songs From The Big Chair is such a classic record. Good to hear they are still putting on great shows.

My absolute favorite thing about TfF is that they had this album, basically a hitmaker jukebox of really solid, catchy, melodic synthpop. The synth riff from Head Over Heels will still randomly pop into my head out of nowhere. And then for the first single from their next album they basically said "Hey here's a 6 minute long prog song go **** yourself!" and it was amazing.

Big Chair was great and definitely a classic but Seeds of Love is my personal fav.

Yeah I remember being a kid and already knowing Big Chair pretty well since my parents would always be playing the record. Then I heard the "new Tears for Fears" song on the radio one day and loving it but also thinking how distinctly different it was. Almost Beatles-esque. Or maybe that's just the French horns telling me that it's Beatles-esque.

The bridges in STSOL have always blown my mind. And yes, love those horns.

Youngins these days don't even know what a bridge is since every contemporary pop song is just an intro and a 3-minute chorus. It was a joy to hear this live.

I can't look at that cover and not think that young Roland is young Geno's doppleganger.

Oh it's straight Beatles, F Horns and all. There's plenty of I Am The Walrus around the title track. I think my favorite is this one, very fusion and Manu Katche on drums and Pino Palladino on bass.

Can't go wrong with Manu Katche. Saw him backing Peter Gabriel last month. That tour arrives in PGH in September.

I'm glad to report that, yes, Bad Man's Song was on the setlist. As was Woman in Chains from that album. The backup singer crushed it.

Big run of concerts for me. We got free tickets to Ed Sheeran for Saturday, that was better than I expected. Now I'm going to Weezer tonight, shaniah twain on Thursday, then snoop dog the following Tuesday. Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks, and Offspring in August. Nice little summer lineup. Then when we were young festival in Vegas in October.

Nice set of shows. That When We Were Young festival lineup looks like a blast.

I'm heading to Philly to Cake in a couple of weeks, Sigur Ros in Toronto and then closing out my summer travel with Beck in Detroit.

oh man I absolutely love Cake. They have legit been my Spotify most played band like 3 years in a row now

huh, looking at their tickets about half of them are just for Cake and the other half are for An Evening With Cake. I wonder if there's actually any difference? I wouldn't think so?

I think the "Evening With..." shows are just Cake with no opener.

An Evening with Cake just sounds like my "bad days" being single after graduating.

Just one show for me this year, Lorna Shore, Gojira, and Mastodon at Stage AE. Not a huge Mastodon guy but they're fine. Mostly going for Gojira but I'm interested in seeing Lorna in person as well.

When we were young is right :P

Road-tripped to Virginia Beach last week to catch Tears for Fears in concert. If you're a fan of them and have a chance to see them on this tour, absolutely do it. They sound great.

Cold War Kids is the opener.
My wife and son went in Raleigh and said the same thing. She is a bit concerned that they look old (they're her age) but says the vocals aren't suffering. She really liked and has added a bunch of Cold War Kids to her rotation.
