In honor of PensX, let's talk about some hockey in the music thread. So, what do yinz feel like the only option is for us and our horrible PP1? Let's get rid of the obvious answers of taking Letang off or having Crosby not behind the net or getting rid of Rust because they're never going to happen barring injuries. So, what options do we have? I liked how it looked for the first 4 games, but...

Hell yes. Not on topic, have you read the new biography of the Delmonas / Headcoatees by Saskia Hollins? It's real good!

It's pretty great, I gotta say.

It's on amazon.de (€29.48) and amazon.co.jp (¥6,241) but not the USA amazon. I found it on goner-records.com but they are sold out. :(

Just checked damagedgoods.co.uk and they don't have it although I'm going to preorder the new Guy Hamper (Childish and Prisoners keyboardist James Taylor) record and the tribute single to Don Craine (from the Downliners Sect) by the Thee Headcoats Sect.

This shit is pretty great. All new to me, tho it reminds me of a lot. Amazon Music has quite a bit of their music.

Thee Headcoats Sect rules, I got to listen to it myself a few days ago. (The new singles that is, not the 90s/2000s albums which are also great.)

You should order the book from Spinout Nugglets, the label who published it.

@BlindWillyMcHurt , I know you were worried about me getting rid of all my oddball vintage amps, so don't worry, I got this bad boy coming in the mail this week:

1961-1962 Watkins Scout. Basically a 1x10" version of the fabled Watkins Dominator which Marshall stole for their 18 watter, with a tube tremolo circuit heavily inspired by the 1950s Gibson amps. Seller thinks it's a '64, but I know it's earlier because it's handwired P2P and not PCB.

Gonna crank it up and play some freakbeat/Medway songs!

Thought this was fitting for the current state of the team, but didn’t wanna clog our sacred hockey thread with any music mumbo jumbo.

Aren’t they the types to not use modern medicine though?
Nah, they were Mormons, not Christian Scientists.

I saw them last in 2020 and they were great, but even then Mimi looked a little unwell. I had a bad feeling when they started canceling tour dates a few weeks ago that things were not going good.

But what a legacy to leave behind. They simply just didn't make bad albums.

For some reason I thought they were anti medicine and vaccines.

Haven’t been a big fan of really any of their records since maybe Drums and Guns. Last great one was like 2001. Christmas record is always a jam.

Oh man, I think Double Negative was killer. Ones and Sixes I'm a bit meh on, I'll admit. But to leave behind a string of albums like When the Curtain Hits the Cast, Secret Name, Things We Lost in the Fire, Trust, The Great Destroyer, and Drums and Guns is pretty insane on its own.

And yeah, that Christmas album owns hard.
