I don't think Andersson has enough trade value to make it worthwhile for the Rangers to trade him.

Thats how I feel.

Andersson might eventually be the odd man out (he doesn't develop or he develops but gets passed by others on the depth chart and the organization doesn't want to commit money/term to him) but now seems like a weird time to move him.

Lias Andersson probably has the same value as guys like Tolvanen and Necas. He is regarded as a blue-chip prospect by everyone except Rnager fans. Something about grass being greener elsewhere etc

His stock is down because we drafted him as a guy who was supposed to be ready to go pretty quickly and he didn't hit the ground running as people were expecting based on what they had been told. The reality is he is still only 20 years old, so it's not like we've been waiting on him for years.

Depends on who you ask, I guess.

The main boards think he's an ECHL player already.

That is how I'd rank them too, yet I still would contend that none of them have trade value which makes trading them worthwhile.

None are going to return anything more than their counterpart prospect peer.

Lias is the type of prospect GMs ask for when trading away their top players. Brannstrom in the Stone trade for instance

Andersson strikes me as a prospect that has way more actual value in the real world than he does here.

I think if he does get dealt, that a lot of us here will be very happy with the return.

At a trade deadline, I could see something like that. Yet that comparison is tougher to make since Brannstrom is a D, who for a D has done quite well since his draft.

In the AHL, yes. Lias has also been good in the AHL. His contribution percentage was higher than Necas FYI

Can you give me a quick rundown on what I says? Apparently these MSG clips aren’t available in the country I am currently in.

- Pido asks Gorton about the excitement of winning the 2OA. Dumb question, but Gorton basically re-lives his experience at the lottery.
- JG is asked about this being a 2 player draft (at the top.) JG says he's happy that they're in the top 2 and then the usual "try not to tip my hand" jargon of "there still is scouting to be done."
- Pido asks if Gorton can say "Kaapo Kakko." JG laughs nervously and says Kaapo Kakko. Says he can also say "Jack Hughes"
-JG gets into what separates the 2 of them from the others in the draft. JG responds with how those guys make the players around them better, how other teams focus on trying to shut them down and can't do anything to stop them. Says "I think it's great for the Rangers and the future is bright." - This is what I was referring to when he basically said he was going to take one or the other.
-Asked about not having a president. Says it hasn't changed his process at all. His exact words "We're making deals, we're trying to trade people."
- Gets into detail about Fox, Shestyorkin and Kravstov.

I believe a D prospect is going to carry more value even if they were identical in ever other way.

I would personally put Brannstrom in a tier above Lias both from a positional outlook as well as a talent outlook.

We’ll get a better idea after the draft, but I think Strome ends up the 2C by default. I think Trouba is the big target and package based on Skjei/Andersson goes the other way. Their replacements are Newhook and Broberg

i could totally be ok with that scenario

stromer agreed would seem to be the logical choice at the 2C

if we could add trouba and move skjei and andersson then draft newhook and broberg.... ?? hmmmm

problem Newhook and broberg aren't ready and those 2 are roster players now.

sign me up. lots of moving parts there tho

There are going to confine to be a lot of moving parts throughout this rebuild. I’ve said for awhile that not every player drafted is going to be on this roster when the rebuild is completed.
