For years I have been saying that Kreider is overrated here and taking ridicule. Now, he's everyone's trade fodder.
Like it or not, Kreider is a legit top line wing. As such, it was a pretty big home run of a draft pick. The reason everyone is discussing him in a possible trade is due to the rebuild and his place in such a long term capital structure. And it is speculation, but one that has legs. That said, if Gorton does not get the deal that he wants and Kreider contract ask fits into the box that Gorton has in his head, Kreider stays.

You seem to always say things that almost no one likes or agrees with

I say seem bc maybe it's just my bias or perspective. A few people pointed out that you're ignoring massive context.

Two things we can agree on...its Easter and we're still getting kakko. Happy easter

Do you think Kakkos ceiling is Aleksander Barkov?or who do you compare him at the best possible outcome?and worst outcome?

What’s this Anglophone obsession with shortening about every name, especially the ones that don’t sound English?

Not in a million years I would have thought about referring to someone named Moritz as ‘Mo’. Funny stuff.

I'm guessing you don't follow Mo Wagner, the basketball player from Michigan/Lakers

I'd rather have Hughes, but Kakko is an amazing (perhaps understatement) prospect in his own right. My preference for Hughes is minimal.

I was extremely excited when I saw the Sabres placard because we had a chance at the top-2. I was beyond elated when I then saw the Blackhawks placard. Seeing the Devils next didn't phase me whatsoever.

If my love of Hughes is a 10, Kakko is a 9.5, where the #3 would've been a 6. Staying put a 5, dropping a 4.

And, I'd be lying if I said that this year's playoffs hasn't made me more excited for Kakko.

Wow. I don't think a team has ever made it so obvious who they are taking. We knew already anyway but to be so open about it is pretty shocking. Must be trying to sell season tickets for next year.
Carolina was doing the same sort of thing with Svechnikov last year, maybe not to the same extent, but they had him come to Raleigh and were posting videos from his tour of the arena before the draft

Not even close, perhaps one of the least obvious. Shero literally said he’s going to be following both Hughes & Kakko very closely.

No, hadn’t heard of him before. On the NHL-website for example it’s not Alexander Ovechkin but Alex Ovechkin, and they’re multiple examples of that. Even saw this German fella named Johannes being referred to as Joe in some media.

I don’t know, just think it is kind if funny. Always like these small cultural differences :D

A bit premature to be penciling Andersson in on the first line, no? Let's see him thrive in a 2nd or even 3rd line role first.

Relax, those lines aren’t necessarily in order in terms of depth. Simply indicating the players at every position which almost all of which can play multiple positions meaning you can pretty much juggle the top 3 if not all 4 lines.
I’ve never been a fan penciling in anyone at a given line. Agreed they have to earn it... guess my point was more in the sense that Quinn would have field day with this roster because of its versatility.

Great point. How long do some of these GMs have? Will Chayka be employed in 2020 as ARI's GM if they miss the playoffs again? The 2019 1st isn't going to help him out.

ARI doesn't have a whole lot coming their way upfront outside of Hayton. They didn't have a single 20 goal scorer, and added 25 to their team would have been the difference between the playoffs versus not. Add in the fact that they can't draw free agents... then Chayka should be on the market.

EDM- there troubles are well chronicled.

MTL may be a wildcard, but being close to the playoffs this year was house money for them. They've got more kids coming. Poehling is going to be a poor man's Auston Mathews for them imo. They've got Suzuki.

MTL has a shortage on defense and has trouble attracting UFAs. They need a prime age top 4 LHD. I don't see the Rangers trading Skjei. And Bergevin isn't feeling any heat, he's been lauded for taking a step forward... the Habs this year were a byproduct of a lot of trades.

So outside of EDM and ARI, is there a team that's going to trade out of the top 15 for something the Rangers have?

I can't see it happening.

And the word that Kessel going to ARI at the draft is picking up steam.

instead of trading chris kreider for a draft pick, lets keep him, surround him with better talent and let him be the top end 2nd line scoring forward that he really is.

at some point this charade of trading everyone for draft picks has to end right ?
