So, who from the Devils organization said they’re going Hughes?
So very clichED of you to say...Can I just say... I’ve seen this several times from a few different posters the last few days....
The proper phrase is uncharted waters, not unchartered.
This is very important to me, as someone who makes maps for a living.
Didn't Gorton have Svechnikov as the top forward last year with Kratsov after him at 2 or 3? Its not like Gorton has absurd rankings. He had Petterson #1. He wanted Keller. Its blown out of proportion when all Gorton is guilty of is taking Anderson over Mittlestadt and Kratsov over Wahlstrom. You will shave years off your life if you overthink this.

I know this sounds stupid, but there really is part of me that is going to miss discussions and the possibility of Cozens, Turcotte, Zegras or Byram.
Not that I would trade places, but those were the names we spent so much time with. There’s an attachment there.
You can make the argument he will be the most hyped and well regarded player the Rangers have ever drafted - period.
That’s not a comparison to the careers of all time greats, it’s looking at how players were viewed at the time of their drafting.
Think Hughes said he skated with Hall in the off season, and they’ve gotta do all they can to keep Hall around tooI have to think the Devils are drafting Hughes on marketing alone. And I kind of hope they do. I like Kaako better.
I–To be fair to Gorton, he probably saw him struggle (read: "fail") doing one lousy pull up.
And while I'm being semi-serious here as a coach I'd have my reservations over an athlete who is reliant on core and general body strength and is incapable of doing one freaking pull up.
My coach would have send me to the dungeon until I can do at least 10.
Wouldn't make me a better player but hot damn that's just something I've never heard of or seen.
I'm close to 40 and while I'm not in the worst shape of my life, I'm certainly the heaviest I've been and even I can give you 1 if you asked me now right here, with my underpants sitting on my cold leather office chair.
The hype for Brendl was something serious. I’d probably rate him as the most hyped pick we’ve ever had.
They’d be stupid not too tbhI have to think the Devils are drafting Hughes on marketing alone. And I kind of hope they do. I like Kaako better.
I–
Wait... wut?
Not stupid at all, we did some good digging and came to some agreements, huge win for this place.
Names will come up down the road, we may be acquiring some of these others guys in trades or free agency.
Kaapo, born on the 13th of February, just like my Grandpappy, who was a different kinda Capo, if ya know what I mean![]()
Born a day before Valentines day, but he already has my heart.
I am by no means pre-judging, my friend. I promise you, if the Rangers wind up with Hughes I will NOT complain...I’d laugh if Hughes made it clear he wasn’t keen on playing for the Devils and after that factor, they went Kakko.
Talk about two boards reprogramming themselves.
You called it, BTW.
Yeah it just had that feeling.
This franchise has gone through too much bull **** (most of it self inflicted) not to have something go right for once.
This is huge though. Potentially franchise altering and after next year, we should be ready to roll.
Saw on The Athletic that Shero was Jim Hughes’ advisor when he played at Providence.Shero has connections with the Hughes family, and is very high on the USNTP kids.
