I'm over the call, I'm more annoyed they came out flat Thursday because this kind of thing can happen and you miss out on points. So you can't toss points away because you weren't feeling it that night. Losing because you got goalied, bounces/calls didn't go your way while you outplayed them is a thing I can live with. But coming out looking like you don't care and losing is garbage.

Just like the lackluster games they played against the Sharks, I swear it's crazy they haven't learned this yet despite missing the playoffs by a tie breaker.

I think this is the importance of having some tone setters on your team. There are going to be nights you just aren't into it, but if you have some guys who go out, who set a pace, who set a tone and take the body and get involved, I think it helps keep everyone going. If we can move out some of Motte, Tank, Berggren, Holl, Gus...and replace them with guys who will run you over as soon as look at you, I think that helps us. I think it also helps encourage some guys - like Ras and Elmer and Ed - to maybe step up and play a bit rougher.

That bad PK was on Ed for sure, but 2 of the goals were on Talbot. The 4th was on the ref’s for missing one of the most blatant reckless high sticks I’ve seen in a while.
We were getting lucky with some high level goaltending for much of the season. There was always going to be a regression to the mean. It is frustrating that regression seemingly comes around the same time of year every season.

I don't like to blame the refs. You shouldn't put yourself in a position where the refs missing a call or making a bad one cost you the game. And usually bad calls like that even out over the course of a game. But man does it suck when they miss a black and white high stick at that point in the game.

It was a shitty result but we played well enough to win for sure. Ed was pretty bad all game i thought, not just on the game winner where he clearly got beat (regardless of the high stick). The key is to make sure this doesn't become a streak going the wrong way. This is supposedly where good vets matter.

I think the bridge jumpers are a bit premature at this point.

What game were you watching? Ed and AJ were the only D pair that generated any offense all game long. Them along with the kane line were fantastic!

Still baffled at how the refs missed that call. It was pretty clear from all angles. That said, our goalies will sink the playoff push as usual. Until we get a reliable starter we will always be prone to these types of games. No reason for us to lose this one.

I noticed a few Columbus fans saying edvinsson lifted Danforth stick into his own face which could be the reason it wasn't called. Which definitely is not true. If you slow the replay down you can see Danforth lift eds stick than smack him with his own.

I tried to communicate this with them but my post was deleted because we don't allow discourse between fanbases

The game where Ed got abused on two goals. It is great he generated offense. Next time tell him to keep the f***ing puck out of his own net so we can win.

I shoulda worn these to the Stadium Series

Let them live in their own little world. They obviously wanted to see what they wanted to see devoid of any reality whatsoever.

what an annoying game. Total domination only for the refs to completely miss the most obvious high sticking call you will ever see in a hockey game. Good thing the rest of the eastern conference sucks

Also how embarrassing for the NHL to have espn treat one of their marquee events of the season less important than a regular season sec college basketball game.

Yup, that's the bottom line.

F*** the schedule, f*** the other teams, that's not the point. It's about the team coming out with the right mentality and approach. If they do, they'll get in. But it would obviously help, if we would get some upgrade at the deadline.

He was great, stop
What exactly was "great" about Larkin these last two games? 0 points and -4 is great in your book? They broke up the line because they were creating nothing. I have no idea what you were watching if you thought he had a good game. These were two huge games he didn't show up for. Your unconditional cheerleading is strange.

It's gross the NHL rig games at the expense of people dying just so they can line their pockets with cash. Absolutely disgusting and immoral. The NHL brass can burn in hell for greed.
