He’s not in the NHL yet, please don’t think that I am undermining the pick. But I just don’t know a lot about the player.

EK will get 13 mill per year. Rangers won't do that. Panarin will get around 10. Those wanting us to go after those 2 are setting themselves up for a disappointment .

Unless they, for some reason, take somebody else, the Rangers will be getting their best prospect since Brian Leetch.

Gorton lucked out getting the #2 pick. He can't go wrong (I hope). If he got the first pick and choose Hughes and later Kakko killed it, he would be judged harshly and visa versa. Drafting second he is probably going to get a very good NHL player and if the Devils picks exceeds Gorton's pick he can say they had the first pick he was "stuck" with leftovers. He can't go wrong taking whoever the Devils don't take.

If you're talking about how they were viewed on draft day (ignoring everything that comes after), I think he might be the most highly regarded ever, or at least in the modern draft era.

Yeah, Im starting to do some more research now that this is real. Seems like Kakko has all the tools to step in right away and make an impact. Very exciting.

The Rangers got the #2 pick in a draft where there are two consensus generational players at the top of the board. This just doesn't happen. It has immeasurably sped up the rebuild
