Player like Will Smith shouldn't be in the NHL. Needs to be developed and given better deployment and a better environment to succeed. Right now the Sharks are ruining his development.
it's all part of Mike Grier's master plan, you just don't understand. Once Will Smith's ELC is up, Grier will be able to point at his abysmal numbers and negotiate a team friendly extension on his terms. Mike Grier is playing 4D chess while his critics are playing checkers in their pajamas.

Another thing that nobody has mentioned with regards to this year is we now have a first year coach that has no prior experience coaching at the NHL level, and to say he's going through some growing pains is an understatement. Right now he looks like he's in over his head and that may very well be true with how he's gotten tactically spanked by veteran coaches up to this point. It's gonna take some time and some very hard losses before we find out if he has what it takes or not.
How many new players are there on this year’s team? Pinning the lack of success on the coach without acknowledging player turn-over (which is on the GM) is lazy analysis.

On paper we are better than last year, so that would make him look even worse than he has been.

If the game was played on paper I would agree. But those who follow the game understand that bringing in a new coach, implementing a new system, and adding a significant number of new players all make it more difficult for the team to coalesce.

Joking aside, Grier and the Sharks need to ensure that their kids develop. Record isn't important, but there will come a time when the players tune out the HC if they lose that much this season and next season. Can't afford to have the kids develop bad habits which they won't break later.

Goes for any rebuilding club whenever their best prospects make the NHL roster.

What new system? Warsofsky hasn't changed a damn thing from Quinn's failed "system".

That isn’t true, but whatever. No point in trying to have a productive discussion with you.

‘"The last two years definitely have been tough, but there's a lot of new guys in the room,” Grier said. “There's a new coaching staff, so to expect guys to come out and gel right away, chemistry-wise, learn the system, what the coaches want, the expectations, and everything, it's going to take some time."’

Cassie Campbell-Pascal even made a comment saying the same thing during a last night’s game.
