Granlund + for Kadri now GMCF!
I think Minnesota needs to add. How about:

Nazem Kadri
Mikael Granlund
1st 2012
2nd 2012
1st 2013

They were no saucers. The term is just used too loosely, there is hardly another notion as inflated as "saucer pass" in the hockey jargon. Not every pass is a saucer pass, not every pass leading to a goal is a saucer pass. You could even argue that this is not a saucer pass (at 1:35) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEDA-oQbur0 (check out my previous message). So, not every (fluttering) pass flying over the ice is a saucer pass. If it were it would make no sense to teach kids the specifics of saucer pass. It would be enough to say: just flip the puck to a team mate with your stick, right?
Rather, the execution of a proper saucer pass should be explained briefly as follows: by moving your stick forward let the puck slide slightly from the heal towards the toe of the blade, then snap it (sharply) so that the puck flies neatly through the air and lands flat to a team mate's stick...

Granlund looks fantastic, you guys have a great prospect on your hands. As an aside, is it because most Leafs fans overrate our prospects that we're made fun of or because our fans are just that annoying?
What makes you say this just now?? Have you just seen his game or something? When have you seen him playing last time?
Who is overreating whom here... Granlund is a great prospect, no doubt - but it seems you have only seen some highlights plus recent stats, correct?
Btw. Kadri was just chosen the player of the month in AHL. He sounds like a great prospect as well...
No wonder... they play in Finnish colorsLeafs prospects are usually destined to be soul crushing disappointments

First of all, Pesonen was a better player 07-08 and 08-09, he had 82 points in 70 games in the AHL. And after seeing his games, he was just able to do so much more with the puck back then. the fact that he is a regular on NT has nothing to do with his skills, it's about Jalonens system of having mostly the same players in NT to keep the chemistry.
I do have to agree that the level of sm-liiga might have gone up a little bit, but not really that much.
Now the seocnd thing that bothered me was that you say Granlund got it in the latter stages of the tournament, but then again we played Norway in the QF and he got 0+2 there, which isn't that great.

You got to be ****ing kidding me. You're the guy that said that you've only seen Granlund from highlights and said hes not that special on Wild boards. You also came in after every game he didn't score in that you probably had not watched to state somethig like "Oh Granlund isn't scoring 2 PPG pace in FEL anymore, I feel like he can't make it in NHL." I smell hypocrisy.
Markus is definetly not better stickhandler, and he does not have a better shot, skating is better though. That was then. I have changed my mind and tone afterwards. You cannot judge a propsect by highlights and stats only. That is what i am saying here. I was once wrong. Granlund is better than one might think watching these clips. He just plays the game at such a high level (plus he has improved his skating). So, after watching his performances at EHT i rated him higher. His mobility has always concerned me but it seems to be at decent/adequate level nowadays. So, i think he is a great prospect (although his brother might still be better one day (better shot, better skater, better stickhandling, good vision although not at the same level as mikael)).
And Mikael is a lot stronger on his skates. It's not easy to beat Mikael in the corners. Markus is about one year behind Mikael and that means Markus is about as good as Mikael is now in 2013/2014. Maybe not even then. Maybe next year but Mikael is easily the better one. Would be quite awesome to see these two in the same NHL team (it would be easier to Minnesota to get Markus than the other way around)
So, you are saying Markus is only one year behind because he is one (and half?) year younger...? But then you say that Markus is about as good as Mikael now in 2013/2014?? Or maybe not even then? Then you go on speculating and say maybe next year! But then again Mikael is easily the better one... Well, okay...
Hopefully they are both as good as they can be in the WJC.
I know kinda mess post but what I tryed to say was that Mikael was last year better than Markus is this year (about the same age). Mikael is in his own level right now and when talking about our current Finnish prospects Aleksander Barkov jr. is the only one who might become better player than Mikael. Of course anything can happen.
Then the latter part was meant that you never know how prospects develop and it might be possible that Markus takes leaps this year and catches Mikael in terms of development.
You should decide whether you like or dislike Granlund. If he doesn't put atleast a couple points per game you are coming here how bad he is.
Shot? Deke?
