Necas is nothing like Skinner. Skinner is a better goal scorer, stronger on his skates and better in tight spaces. Necas is more free wheeling, a better playmaker at speed and has elite speed and he can make plays at speed. He’s a one man entry on the PP.
Necas never dogged it coming back. He tries on D, but as a winger, sometimes makes the wrong read or takes the wrong angle.
His biggest flaw IMO, is that at times, he tries to do too much and gets himself into trouble and he hasn’t really gone into the dirty areas. Given who his linemates were, I can see why.
He’d be best on a line with other guys who have speed and can put the puck in the net.
Unlike Skinner, I was hoping the canes would keep Necas, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I don’t begrudge him for wanting to move. He was on PP2 and his most common 5v5 linemates were Jack Drury, Michael Bunting and Kotkaniemi. Last year he was on pp1, played a lot with Svech and Aho (as well as Kotkaniemi )

They wanted Byram. Mitts was the cost. They want a different type of bottom six C and they already picked and payed their top 2. His absence does create a need for a skill forward.
Skinner was bad at 32 and isn’t getting better.
Necas isn’t getting paid almost 2 million dollars more than their highest paid forward.

Added in with a veteran top 4 dman would be a decent summer.
Before people get overhyped about Necas, remember, it's bullshittery season.
Buffalo is seen as a team desperate to make a splash.
If I was selling Necas, I'd tell other teams that Buffalo has pretty serious interest because i know Adams won't refute anything.

I didn't say they would, I said that they should. And a pending RFA that wants to get overpaid was not what I had in mind.You yourself said that they will target players who have control or a term.

I don’t think they’re going to be able to sign anyone of significance. It’ll have to be trades for players who can’t control where they end up.
