Dynamite not only beat Raw on the week, but they were #1 in cable for the night and beat the NBA. Moxley did .48, mixed tag .47 and Cody Rhodes .45.

Raw, by the way, had one of the worst first to third hour drops, so no effect to the MNF blowout. I just don't think that the two are worth comparing even though they'll get a few viewers back next week.

Just curious about everyone’s thoughts on this. I’m 30 male just for the record. Most of my friends who use to be wrestling fans in the past have given up on wrestling completely because they said WWE became way to PG. They hated the no swearing, no blood and the corny dialogue they would have.

I only bring up WWE because that’s what we grew up watching. They are not hardcore and don’t watch indies or other wrestling shows at the time. I wonder how much of that audience they have lost and what if anything can WWE or AEW do to get them back.

WWE is a lost cause.

AEW has its flaws, but straight up, it’s a better show 100% - Especially if you like non-scripted promos that actually use adult language instead of “you’re a poopy pants fart head!” language.

The wrestling has been much better as well.

AEW is great. WWE is garbage. Not because of the lack of swearing or blood but the product itself is awful. There's no creativity allowed and it is so overproduced. I can't even watch without getting dizzy because of all the camera cuts.

If they were legitimately fans 15-20 years ago, just have them watch Dynamite next week. AEW reminds me so much of prime WCW. I have the same excitement watching AEW as i did watching WCW in the mid 90s

One thing to note is the PG 13 style of wrestling was popular for like... half a decade? If you go back to the 80s and early 90s you get even cornier stuff than Super Cena. It's just not that sustainable when a lot of people who watch wrestling are kids, and when you don't always have Stone Cold to build the whole company around. Their best talent in mid 2000s was John Cena so they adjusted a PG style that suited him better. Furthermore culturally the Attitude Era came about in a time when rebellion was in with other cultural influences such as Eminem, Limp Bizkit, South Park, etc. We are now living in the complete opposite time overall with hyper sensitive people getting offended so how do you book an edgy wrestling show.

The truth is that in the ring wrestling is better now than 20 years ago and talking is worse. Most people in the IWC prefer in the ring technical type wrestlers over guys who excel at talking like the Miz. The WWE along with AEW has adjusted to the social media era by giving them a healthy dose of their favorite kind of guys which is the in ring ones, including an entire show in NXT who's Black and Gold era will probably go down as legendary for technical quality. They now have another company AEW that's built around making the internet happy. The ONLY time they really care about good of promos wrestling shows have is when hyping up the Attitude Era which has become to them what the green light in the distance or his idolized version of Daisy was to Jay Gatsby.

In reality, wrestling was more fun for everyone when they're kids, and some people that grew up with the AE will never be able to replace that. Furthermore, bashing wrestling on the internet is trendy, and some people are self loathing about their lifelong fanship about wrestling. I personally thought the ending of Dexter New Blood was satisfying enough and somewhat boilerplate ending to an overall good season, but it has a lot of people attacking it online and its IMDB score is as bad as the original ending. Why? Because trashing Dexter endings online is a cool thing to do and I think some people reached for the worst possible things about its ending. Some WWE bashing also falls into this camp.

If they were making compelling television, people who say they miss the blood and cursing wouldn’t give a shit.

every now and then i think some color adds to the match, but for the most part I don’t need to see it. Give me 15-20 minutes showcasing their athleticism and creativity over a bloodbath.

there is rarely a time during wwe matches where I wonder to myself how on earth the wrestlers got in sync to call the sequence. Aew it happens almost every match. They consistently have long sequences of action that require 2-3-4+ Wrestlers to all get the call and the timing correct in a fraction of a second, and it goes off without a hitch.

Smackdown 2.255m/.64, best demo since September 10

Rampage 594k/.24, best demo since October 29 in this time slot (Christmas Rampage is ahead)

Raw 1.776M/.46

Highest total viewership since October 4.
Highest in demo since November 22

So no real no-football bump. Just a slight one. In fact, next week's number will be better probably.

NXT 593k/.14. Up a lot with women

Dynamite 1.1m/.41. Highest total viewership since September 29

Surprised there weren't an uptick in 50-60 year olds wanking it to that chick with the gross knockers.

Smackdown 2.217m/.56

Rampage 601k/.25. Best numbers since October 1

Raw 1.865m/.47. Highest total since August 30 and in demo was November 22.

Hour 1 of Raw did a .52 and over 2m total viewers. By hour 3 it was down to .43 and an overall drop of 400k. So a lot of people not sticking around for AJ/Mysterio and Ronda.

Dynamite 954k/.35. Both lows on TBS (5 weeks). That's not numbers you want when you built up Punk and MJF for 2 months.
