Yea but he seems even more poised than Hank sometimes
True, which I love. But, I never forget how many times I watched Henrik completely stone the opposition in the same way.
That's why I mention it as seemingly a trait of Rangers goalies. Look at how Raanta adopted a calmer more economical method of playing when he was here, at least that's how I recall him.

Keith Jones with actual insight on Geo. Notes his athleticism and how he follows the game. Both points many of here have noted.

You no doubt have a much better grasp of this than I do, so point taken that maybe it's the successes who stand out in my memory.

Aside from Lundqvist and to a lesser extent Talbot and Raanta, there has not been a goalie who really turned into something under Allaire.

We have Georgiev playing great now, but can he keep it up or is it just a hot streak?

What do you guys predict will end up happening with Shestyorkin/Georgiev situation?

Shestyorkin will likely play in Hartford next year. There is no guarantee he is an NHL goalie yet. He played well in the KHL but to put things into perspective Nigel Dawes is the 2nd overall points leader this season.

Hank will be phased out and those two will compete/split most of the games
I love Hank, but he can’t feel good about stopping the team from doing what they want. Hank has been the face of the franchise for so long, but the reality is that the FO will want to develop their goalies of the future (and they should), and he will be in the way. I would hate to be him. Then again, he’s a beautiful man that makes bank, so maybe I wouldn’t hate it.

He will get some token front office job. Rangers ambassador to Frolunda

I think the fundamentals are solid. The pucktracking and rebound control stands out for a goalie playing behind such a poor defensive team.

He's also getting conditioned to the weakside man being open for a one timer because of how shitty of a job Pionk, Shatts, Smith et al do when it comes to tying up their man.

The stats belie some of the saves he's made, but I'm not ready to anoint him as the next starter yet. There have been games where the flood gates have opened, and Georgiev has gotten blown up from time to time.

What I'd like to see is how he comes back from giving up a bad goal or two.

That said. I say this with all due respect, he's been better than Lundvist in the back half of the year. Lundqvist isn't the same goalie he used to be on PK. Georgiev has been much better on the PK than Henrik.

Allaire has done a good job, I don't like his taste in goalie picks, never have, but he's turned around a bunch of guys. Ochocinco as well.

Gritty and the meme he’s become is cringey af and I don’t understand why he’s any more fascinating of a mascot than Dallas’s green thing, and so on.
Storm Surge I like though
