Goodbye Georgie.
He can also make an outlet pass unlike Pionk
Remember that Pionk is a rookie D man. His game is leveling off and his development is stalled at the moment. I think in time he'll be fine with a little patience. Remember, this IS a rebuild. Our D is young.Because he’s worse
Hajek will have his moments too.I think Pionk is the whipping boy right now because people see very little redeeming qualities with his game. Hajek has played two NHL games and has demonstrated more redeeming qualities than Pionk has, aside from his nice stretch when he had the golden stick and couldn't do anything wrong. He seems like a nice kid. But is he a fit for NHL play?
I can't remember how many times I saw Hajek make a cross ice pass to Pionk, and he immediately just chucked it up the wall. Had no idea where to go with the puck, not even back to his D partner. Night and Day from Tony D, who always seems to know where everyone is on the ice and where to go with the puck before he gets it. Pionk is a try hard player that always looks like he is doing more than he actually is on the ice.
We had like a couple crap years between 35 and 30 and that's allI don't like losing like this. The refs took our BEST player out of the game and then the Skeji phantom call. They literally took a good contest and turned it into a one sided game, with no hope for the Rangers.......despite them playing a hard fought game.
Goos result, but not this way. Not fair to those players that busted their ass to win.
Thought Skeji had an absolutely awesome game.....seemed very confident and looked more like the kid prior to his contract. Very, very good sign for him and the Rangers.
Hayek was very good again......wow, someday Tampa will regret trading him when he becomes McD "light" while McD is regressing.
What can u say about Georgiev? He has been great. We are so spoiled with our goaltending throughout the years. I call it the Giacomin/Villemure tradition.

Shattenkirk is another player where I don’t see what the big issue is, other than it being another example of a Rangers free agent splash. He has two years left. I actually think he’s been solid this year, but either way.
Skjei just has rocks for brains. Earlier in the season I was hopeful that playing with DeAngelo would get him going and manifest in some form of even minor development, but that didn’t last. Is there anything he’s better at now than he was during his rookie season?
Shattenkirk isnt a bust. He's exactly what he's been or relatively close. A #6 that can PPQB. I despised the signing, knew what it would be.Kevin ****tenkirk. ****ty. Not Shatty.
They can't blame Vigneault now. Quinn has a long standing relationship with the player. Look at how Quinn uses him.
The same people are now pushing Panarin. No thank you. We saw how Shattenkirk worked out. He is only 28 with many more quality seasons left. Blah. Blah.
Just like in 2014... :/At least they admitted they F'd up. Doesn't help the Rangers now though.
That is true. Tony has been in the league on&off for 3 years. Neal hasn't. No offense to Marc, but he has been saddled with him......Marc is the epitome of a stay at home defenseman. Neal has had waaaay too much responsibility, and obviously it has been weighing on him and hurting his game, because he is over worked. Its simply too much for him, right now. I would put him 3rd pair, and really cut down on his minutes. He has had too much, too fast.Remember that Pionk is a rookie D man. His game is leveling off and his development is stalled at the moment. I think in time he'll be fine with a little patience. Remember, this IS a rebuild. Our D is young.
I still find myself frequently cursing his name—missed opportunities, passes slightly late and/or off-target—but maybe it’s just out of habit; seems to opt for the more difficult route in most situations. Not for noting, but Skjei has been pretty good for the last 25 games.
