Idk why everyone is hating on Pionk. I thought he did fine. He will make a fine 3rd pair/pp d when it's all said and done. Hes better than shattenkirk. Namestnikov had by far the worst game.. followed by shattenkirk.

That call on Zibanejad was bad. Very much like the Shestyorkin situation last weekend. Bad call, refs give the game misconduct for the injury, not the action.

As subpar as Pionk has been this year he gets more shit than Shattenkirk. I just don't get it
If tank is finishing between 7th and 10th then yes its happening. I will believe it when I see this team lose 2 or more games in a row without getting a point (hasn't happened since January 8th).

Honestly though the odds increase that much between 8th and 4th. 8-9/9-10 and 4-3/3-2 are the bigger jumps.

I thought the call on Zib was warranted. Faksa was already in an incredibly vulnerable position even before Zib went in for the hit. First point of contact was definitely the shoulder, but it’s impossible to avoid head contact when the player is at that angle. He should have pulled up and had plenty of opportunity to do so.

For all the shit Pionk gets I thought he made a couple of good plays yesterday that might've prevented goals. Unfortunately for him once the Rangers fanbase designates you as the whipping boy you're doomed no matter what you do
I've grown more wary of him over time, but let's not forget that he's still pretty damn young. If we can trade him for something useful I'm all for it, but I wouldn't discard him for nothing just yet

I don't like losing like this. The refs took our BEST player out of the game and then the Skeji phantom call. They literally took a good contest and turned it into a one sided game, with no hope for the Rangers.......despite them playing a hard fought game.
Goos result, but not this way. Not fair to those players that busted their ass to win.
Thought Skeji had an absolutely awesome game.....seemed very confident and looked more like the kid prior to his contract. Very, very good sign for him and the Rangers.
Hayek was very good again......wow, someday Tampa will regret trading him when he becomes McD "light" while McD is regressing.
What can u say about Georgiev? He has been great. We are so spoiled with our goaltending throughout the years. I call it the Giacomin/Villemure tradition.

People just hate on Shattenkirk because he's the big UFA signing.
He's been Chara in the D zone compared to Pionk.
Going to be very interesting when shesterkin gets here. Georgiev and Shesterkin are very similar goalies in style size etc. Hank isn’t going anywhere. One of these kids is going to be dealt Or in Hartford or in shesterkin’s case Possibly back to Russia. I don’t think that kid is leaving SKA to ride buses thru the minors.
He can also make an outlet pass unlike Pionk
