Quinn is rotating players - the term is more familier with a spanish top team in LA liga when they have 24 really good players - maybe Quinn is an old soccer coach? :)

If he did something wrong off the ice, then so be it

Quinn runs a tight ship

Lias being scratched is also lame. Although to be fair he’s done nothing to justify his spot on the team.
Lias getting scratched for Connor Brickley is just dumb. The kid needs some serious reps. Why not give him Howden’s role for a stretch of games? Howden gets PP time and favorable deployment and he hasn’t looked like an legit NHLer since October.

Instead of giving Lias 7 minutes of 4th line minutes why not pop him up the lineup and tell him you wanna see him create some offense and you’re not gonna scratch him and sit him entire third periods anymore? Lias is in safe mode, makes the safe play every single time because hs probably worried about making a mistake and getting benched and scratched. Give him some leash. He’s clearly playing with zero confidence, just playing to avoid a benching instead of trying to make things happen.

I'm almost relieved to not have Andersson playing. Maybe just send him down and try again next year.

ADA has proven himself in the second half of this season. I was very doubtful, but he has been very good for a good while. At this point scratching him is just annoying and senseless. If we imagine he is the fiery/objectionable character that he has sometimes been portrayed as then this will only serve to further piss him off. I'd be f***ing pissed off. It would be fine if there was a proper reason, but in terms of play he's been easily better than so many of them for ages now.

You're talking about a kid who did something to piss the coach off versus wanting a kid benched because he hasn't been playing well. They're two entirely different situations.
Again the ada situation seems to be off the ice/personal so thats fine.
But how is Quinn keeping people accountable for their play yet Pionk rarley sits. He is consistently bad defensivley but he still plays, that is not holding players accountable

If thats pionk playing hard I dont wanna see him when hes lazy...

what-about-ism is when a completly different topic is brought up. In this situation its 2 dmen who have been treated completly differently for questionable reasons
Well in the coaches eyes. They are two conpleted different situations. In Quinn’s view One player is a high effort player and another is incredibly skilled but won’t do what it takes to be a team player

You can’t just give Lias top 6 minutes he didn’t earn!!! All those unearned minutes go to Chytil!!

Lias has not played that well though so I can understand he benched him to correct on things in training sessions.

I'd feel pretty owned if Tony DeAngelo comes from the clouds to show on ice impact only to be snuffed from the lineup because he's an insufferable tool bag rofl

there may be something to holding character after all

No team full of Ryan Callahan’s has ever won anything....

Like it or not douche bags are needed

Again, you're talking about two entirely different situations. You just acknowledged as much.

Quinn has shown he has an extremely high tolerance for below-average on-ice play as long as a player is working hard and trying to improve. He gives every single player the same amount of slack in that regard. He's incredibly consistent. On the flip side has a very low bullshit tolerance. If a player is acting up, has an attitude, or isn't buying in to what he's putting down, then he has no qualms about benching him to send a message.

If DeAngelo could keep his attitude in check off the ice, then he'd probably be playing in the lineup consistently. Pionk might not be playing very well, but he isn't going out of his way to give the coach reasons to put him in the dog house either.
