I haven't watched a game in a few weeks. I'm a little surprised at some of the lazy plays the vet forwards are making. Not enough urgency. The power play had no movement. Both Fast and Kreider's penalties were of the needless lazy variety. It's a real glimpse at how much Kevin Hayes means to the current team. If they trade him and don't get a #1 center in the draft or elsewhere next few years are going to be real tough.

I think his production would explode if he was on a line with the likes of MacKinnon or Gaudreau. It often doesn’t work out like that, but I think he’d be an exception. No reason I can see that he couldn’t become an elite player himself with the right line mates.
