This team can not tank. They are playing extremely well against a desperate pens team on the verge of being out of playoffs. This is with knowing that they are not making the playoffs and in JG in selling mode

Soft, passive. The Dumoulin goal shows you a team with a group of players that know what they're doing and competing, versus a band of misfit toys. Starts with ADA prolonging his pinch, while the team doesn't have the puck, he hustled back... but Shatt is soft on a puck battle. The forwards are staring at the puck and have no idea where their man is.

I think it just highlights the inexperience and flaws of a mostly young team more than anything. Shatty needs to be better on the wall there, but there's no excuse to have 3 forwards gliding back and all veering off to the same side. No one even thought to stay high at the point
