He's usually horrendous every night, but evidently some website says otherwise.I'm not sure how anyone who watches this team on a gamely basis can say they do better with him on the ice.It sure as hell doesnt result in goals scored much.

It's goal differential.

Please explain to me how that's "some website."

Looks like the alarm went off a bit later than expected. Nice effort towards the end. Plenty of missed opportunities, including that awful 5v3, but Columbus is far more talented than we are. Our only hope is to play with more intensity and passion than they do. We didn’t.
This is where I disagree. I think the Rangers played pretty hard tonight. They're just not very good.

My Carpeniello-inspired notes, in no particular order:

1. Nieves as the center (no pun intended) to two goals in two days, today's was eerily similar to the one Chytil banged home yesterday afternoon. Streaking down the middle, causing some trouble and getting a nice bounce. Nieves has shown more in 2 weeks than he has in 2 years. Very nice. Maybe he's a transitional piece - and I say that as a compliment.

2. Are my eyes deceiving me or am I seeing chemistry between Chytil and Strome? Man, if Strome is a keeper (even as a role player), that’s a Gorton killing with Edmonton.

3. Brendan Smith is such a stupid man. I really hate to beat a dead horse, but his presence is such a morale killer. We need to cut ties immediately. He was paid handsomely, hit the road and take that dumb looking mug with you.

Essentially three more games this month - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. May we be seeing the final goal for #36 in blue?

It's not that they dont work or are lazy. They are way overmatched. They are not types who go through people. They take the finesse approach to lots of things

Rick Nash didn't even finish with 1000 points, that is really sad considering how much potential he showed early on. He could have been a Hall of Famer even without winning a cup.

In regard to not hitting 1000 career points, it had more to do with the rule Bettman put in after he was drafted where a players’s 1000 point career total no longer had the 2 points for a goal 1 point for an assist rule.

As a result of the change, Not having more than 40 assists in a single season kept his point total under 1000.

All in all, 1-2-0 is exactly what they should have been over the last 3 games. They lost a game they probably deserved to win, won a game that they probably deserved to lose and then lost a game that they for sure deserved to lose.

Lmao Quinn is PISSED.

They still have a very AV roster.

Well...my boy was pretty good tonight.

But those defensemen...not one keeper on that blueline, they all suck.

And Georgiev...7 goals? The last one was a real stinker, he just watched the puck move around him and in.

Like I've said all along, if they're gonna win, they're gonna win. You can't slip them roofies before the game.

But that? Shit, after the way that first 55 minutes went I was outright rooting for the Blue Jackets when we made it 6-5. f*** that.

Actually, though, if we wanna give AV credit for something...

If we beat Ottawa, we go to the ECF. Now that summer goes from "we're retooling on the fly" to "we were two steps from the Cup."

AV single-handedly winning that series for Ottawa accelerated our rebuild by 2-3 years.

Thanks, Alain!

I mean they work hard most nights but tonight they ran into a Torts team.

I mean I've kind of had the same mentality.

If they win a game and they deserve to win it, its hard to be mad at that. When they win/pick up a loser point despite getting boat raced, that annoys me and its happened more often than I'd like so far.
