Since the rumor pre-game was that Canada is gone if the offense sucked today it will be interesting to see if this was good enough to keep him.

If we polled hfboards, we know how it would turn out, but a win can be sold as a success and I wouldn't put it past this organization to see a game with 1 quality drive as an excuse to maintain the status quo.

Jackson made one terrible mistake but he vastly outplayed Pickett. Pickens was just unstoppable and the Ravens receivers were yackety sax

The offense was abysmal.
 
Pickett isn't very good so vastly outplaying him is what? Pickett made the throw he needed to in the 4th Q and Lamar threw a brutal INT. I'd take him over Pickett every day of the week, but Lamar had a chance to make a winning play and didn't.

Canada's biggest failing this season imo is Calvin Austin.

With DJ out, he and Pickens need to have 10 touches a piece every game. Where are the wr screens against 3 and 4 high looks? Where are the crossing routes?

He has gamebreaking speed. They don't use it.

I said it weeks ago, but the plays by themselves seem ok. It’s the way they’re called that make no sense. When Ben was calling his own plays we’d march down the field, when Kenny audibles or gets to call a play, we make progress. I just think Canada is a complete idiot with play calling…not entirely play designing.

He needs to be gone either way.

Typically you don’t run crossers against zone. The 49ers and Houston played us cover 2 double GP and make KP drive the field vegas and Bmore played tons of man KP is much better against Man. Austin does come open often but KP barely makes it to the 2nd read

That's how I feel. This W feels good, but this is as good as it gets with this coaching staff. Not expecting much more this season. Offense needs to start getting into the red zone a little sooner than the 4th quarter with nine minutes to go if they want to do great things. Getting a touchdown when they do would help too.

So what you're saying is hire Ben as the OC, right? :sarcasm:
 
Steelers fans are way too harsh on Pickett at this point. People fully acknowledge the OL sucks, the running game sucks and the OC sucks, so how would any QB in Pickett's position have any sort of success? Not only that, but they're also dealing with Johnson and Freiermuth out as well.

I don't think Pickett is anything more than a lower level starter at this point with average starter upside, but there are extremely few QBs who would look good in this offensive system. Pickett is a system QB on a team with a completely f***ed up offensive system.

It's the same issue that Mac Jones is running into in New England right now. Jones made the pro-bowl in his rookie year and finished 2nd in ROY voting, yet he's 1-4 and just got blown out 34-0 right now. He's being absolutely ruined by a shitty team, the same way the Steelers are going to ruin Pickett
