You can’t make this shit up.
Someday Tomlin will find the players who can execute his brilliant vision.

Then you will be sorry that you ever questioned.

He’s playing 4D chess with the whole 1990 offense and 6 year playoff win drought.

We just don’t have the intelligence to see his master plan, us peons.

The “Plan of the 9”.

Bucky Brooks on NFL.com ranked the four teams in the AFC North and he ranked the Steelers last…here’s what he said lol…

“BIGGEST STRENGTH: Credit Mike Tomlin for finding ways to win with a flawed team. The future Hall of Fame coach has relied on his stingy defense and opportunistic offense to piecemeal wins on an assortment of turnovers and timely big plays. The Steelers' overall grit and resilience -- combined with a disruptive defense -- have helped the team chalk up Ws despite serious limitations. With T.J. Watt and Co. capable of holding down opposing attacks, the Steelers simply need a big play or two from the scattershot offense to climb the ranks as a playoff contender.

POTENTIAL ACHILLES' HEEL: Amazingly, Pittsburgh sits at 5-3 despite being outgained on the yardage front in every single game. The Steelers' offense has struggled to move the ball and put points on the board under the direction of coordinator Matt Canada. The much-maligned play-caller has been unable to create a consistent flow with Kenny Pickett in the former first-round pick's sophomore season. While some play designs have been problematic, the blocking at the point of attack and overall execution suggest Pittsburgh's issues extend beyond the play-calling booth. Until the offense finds its groove and rhythm, the Steelers will have a tough time scratching out wins against elite competition down the stretch.”

This is why it is unfair to really judge anyone. They are 5-3 and they are woefully under prepared. It's also hilarious that we needed 3 years to implement t his offense. Canada is the biggest fraud of all time.

Yeah. I was probably being naive, but it shocked me a little to read that, as in surely nobody at that level can be that underprepared, right? It's one thing to have a super conservative game plan, but to not even be executing that correctly...

... I mean, I also went "well that checks out", but even so, despite seeing them be underprepared every week, I still struggled with the idea that a professional at the top of the tree could be that unprofessional.

Tomlin is in a unique position in all of professional sports where his boss is just happy he wants to work for him.

He’s not exactly motivated to produce results beyond protecting his meaningless winning streak.

I have never heard anyone bring up the non-losing seasons streak as anything but a negative. I certainly have never heard Tomlin say anything to indicate that he gives any f***s about it. It is kind of amazing that people have turned it into something to criticize him for. Like he'd somehow be better if he just let the team go 3-14 or something.

Tbh, I don't think the problem is that Tomlin is coaching just to maintain that streak or that he's not motivated.

I think the problem is that Tomlin really thinks that this approach can win a Super Bowl.

And also perhaps that Rooney really thinks it too and that Tomlin can go with the flow or face actual job security questions.

My hope is that Khan and Weidl can open some eyes.

It pretty naive to think the streak isn’t important to Tomlin, especially given it’s all he really has the last decade+ given his epic playoff failures.

It’s legit the only reason the talking heads keep mouthing off how he’s a great coach, when he’s literally not won a playoff game in six years.

That gets almost any coach save Hoodie fired.

And ya it effects his decisions because he’s clearly afraid to take a step back and live with the mistakes of a young offense, so they can actually grow.

Or do people think Tomlin is just a dumb mother f***er who actually believes this is a winning and sustainable formula that will realistically net him another SB?

Yeah, I think he might well think that this, but 10-20% better, is a way to win a SB. I think that is a theory that fits with the facts of how things happen around the Steelers.

It's not that winning is bad.

It's that they are sacrificing playing the kind of football that wins championships to play safe football that will produce endless mediocre results with no end in sight.

If you’re not rooting for Penn State today, you’re just a bitter Pitt fan jealous that your team sucks. Michigan:

-Cheaters
-Harbaugh shady AF
-Haven’t faced any legitimate competition until today
-On the road at the toughest place for a road team to play

They are absolutely going down today. Their offense is going to be dumbfounded and Drew will have his breakout game. And then we’ll have to pivot and root for them to beat Ohio St in a few weeks (very doable)…
How did that work out for ya?

It must suck to be a PSU football fan today.

What a shocker. Franklin is a pretender and PSU will always be 3rd at best in that conference.

I try to give him credit for having an IQ higher than his shoe size, but maybe I shouldn’t anymore.

I've no doubt Tomlin is a smart guy but there's not a shortage of smart, experienced people in this world who get stuck on absolutely idiotic ideas. That goes double when the idea is one they've had success with in the past.

Another saying that Canada's system makes KP's job much more difficult.

Franklin is the Mike Tomlin of college football, without the brief fluke success Tomlin had at the beginning with Cowher's team. What is it about these guys that makes them un-fireable no matter how badly they suck?
Was it really Cowhers team? Half of the team wasn't there the season before.
