Jets shoukd have Rodgers by then. Why would they sign lamaar?

The Colts owner at the league meetings said he will never give out fully guaranteed contract

You don’t have to go fully guaranteed or they could go short term deals. Tunsel does 3 years at a time.
I do wonder what Hurts gets this summer it will be 250/50 minimum we will see what guaranteed at signing is.
Well if your worried about not getting 2 years out of Rodgers based on reports they jets want pick protection then you should at least consider Lamar who will definitely play 5 years

What offense have they built around him exactly? They scored 13 points a game last year without him. He has the 2nd most wins since he was drafted in the entire league. They have a losing record with out him. 4-8. When he is healthy they were in 1st place in 2021 and 2022.
Burrow got Chase. Tua got hill Hurts got AJ Allen got diggs the ravens got him no one.

So you wouldn’t give up picks in the 20s in 24 and 25
Hurts is about to get 5/250 the only question is how much guarantees he gets

Colts after the draft Atlanta after the draft Washington after new owner. I get not giving up a top 10 pick but if the jets are willing to give up 2 2nd for 2 years of Rodgers whats 2 1st for lamar.
Detroit if they were honest because goff splits were horrible

Ravens spent 1st round picks at receiver with Andrew’s at TE, and a deep RB room.

Once the league got tape on him he’s done nothing substantive, hes been hurt and he’s quit on his team. I don’t think he’s god awful but the GM that pays him like an elite QB on the level of Mahomes is an idiot.

It doesn't surprise me that their record would be down with backup in given how much they rely on him. Big adjustment when injury hits, which is pretty often with him.

As for his "winning" ... he's won a single playoff game his entire career. He's not taking them anywhere. They were actually better before he got there with Flacco.

He's not worth the $$$ he thinks he should get.

Greg Roman was in the Matt Canada tier of offensive coordinators. The story on him is the same everywhere he goes. He can design a great run game but sucks when it comes to having a decent passing attack.

I think he was seriously holding Jackson back.

Looks like the holdup with the Rodgers trade is a security guarantee for 2024.

Jets are rumored to be giving up essentially a second this year and a first next season if Rodgers meets "achievable team-performance escalators". I guess the Jets are trying to get a 2025 pick put in there if Rodgers doesn't play in 2024, which is apparently the big hold up.

Either way, this doesn't help the Steelers as the first now looks like it will be in 2024.

Likely means a T going to the Jets at 13 now.

Fully guaranteed is what lamaar reportedly wants.
When the jets gm was asked at the league meetings about lamaar.
He said they were in negotiations with Rodgers and woujdnt he good faith entering discussions with lamaar

Not only two first rounders at receiver but a 1st rounder on TE. a guy they selected ahead of lamaar in the sane draft. But traded him when andrews beat him out.

Elite QBs would perform wonders with that kind of pedigree.

It’s not exactly Hines, el, cedrick and Tuman with what he had to work with

Which team doesn’t suffer with a back up qb in there.
They’re back ups for a reason. A better comparison is look at the year before lamaar got to Baltimore.
9-7 with an old broken down Flacco. Enough to tie for a playoff team but lost out on them due to tie breakers.
This isn’t the wreck of a team that say joe burrow was drafted by

They wasted 1st picks on Wr since Hollywood is gone and Bateman can’t not stay healthy. Andrews was the 2nd te they took in 2018.

We drafted a wr 4 straight years in round 3 or higher only 2 are still in the league. We drafted a wr in 20 of 23 drafts under Colbert thats investment

Someone explain this to me.

We say don't draft even a great running back in the first round as they have a very short football productive shelf life.

But a quarterback who is mostly a runner is someone you should invest hundreds of millions in guaranteed money as they approach thirty years old and begin to slow.

What am I missing?

The thing about asking what team makes sense for Jackson is forget the fit, forget who has the cap space, forget who the willingness to take a risk...

Right now, the situation is still Jackson wants a fully guaranteed contract which is a no for most owners, and most standard QB contracts will be met by Baltimore who will then keep him.

Jackson has to amend his contract demands to something NFL teams will want and then make it clear he will absolutely not play for Baltimore. He has to force his way out.

At this point I am asking what is the probability that Lamar Jackson simply doesn't play in the NFL next year.
 
I am seeing a lot of predictions we will draft the Maryland corner in round 1. I doubt that.

I predict Porter Jr or Branch. Mazi with their second pick

It’s gonna be interesting to see how Allen who is the only running threat in Buffalo or Hurts go since he runs a lot. Daniel Jones 15 passing tds last year got 82 million guaranteed
No one cares about the sacks that burrow takes who says he is go to continue taking them especially on 3rd down.
The injuries for lamar where inside the pocket
