This offense has needed PA in its book for years, but I believe that was Roth’s fault.

Not sure why we didn’t see much of it last season.

They aren’t replacing 3 out of 5 they are replacing LG which was their biggest problem. Moore is still starting week 1

They replaced both guards and have a rookie T who I'd wager will start either out of skill superiority or injury issues at some point in the season. And when you replace both guards, you're in a situation where no one has worked with the guy next to him. It will take time for the unit to gel.

No Daniels is still the starting RG he was there best o line men last year he is not going anywhere.
They are ok if Jones is the swing OT all season he is extremely raw

Moore will start at least half the season if “insiders” are right.

So only Dotson will be changed out with Seumalo and that should be a major upgrade.

The entire right side and C positions won’t change unless I’m forgetting some big signing.

Not sure where all these other changes are suppose to be at.

Ben wasn’t asked about win or carry the offense until year 4. It’s usually year 3 you go all in on finding out about your young Qb. I don’t think we will see tons of games where Kp attempts more than 38 passes a game

Much different game now vs when Ben came into the league. Remember that even Aaron Rodgers sat for a bit before taking over.
QB's today are excelling much earlier thanks to pro ball mimicking CFB. Didn't used to be that way at all

The OL is not likely to look good early on. Playing well as a unit even if there is individual talent takes time. You can’t replace 3/5 of it and expect a plug and go situation. Just doesn’t really happen

You're not replacing 3/5 guys - Moore very well could be LT at the start of the season. Cole, Daniels, and Chuks will still start. Adding a Pro Bowl LG, I very highly doubt we take much of a step back adding him.

And even if we do start Jones at RT or LT and have 3/5 new guys, the jump in skill those two new guys have will offset the chemistry aspect. I'm so unconcerned about the line. If they can stay healthy, I expect top 10 performance.

They didn't replace both G's. Herbig is a swing guy. I doubt he beats out Daniels. I also am not so sure Jones beats out Moore. He may beat out Chuks.

You only needed half a functioning brain to have predicted this back when he left.

It was as certain as death and taxes.

The apology is cool, but I wanted him to leave so kind of rings hollow for me.
He's a jabroni.

Could have legitimately been one of the best ever. His agent cost tens of millions of dollars. It's really sad.

Fun fact: The 3rd round comp pick we got for Bell was used to draft Alex Highsmith.

They are working Peterson in the slot, so it seems like they are going to be starting a rookie at corner.

Looking at this roster right now, obviously hitting on the draft is a big deal, but if they can hit on Porter and Trice and have two 6'3-6'4 starting corners who are super athletic with long arms...that sends this defense into f***ing orbit. And it's not inconceivable right now...both guys have been playing well in camp. We obviously have a long way to go, but that is what I'm following this preseason.

What helps the two of them is having Peterson in the slot and Minkah and two Pro Bowl safeties behind them. This may be the best secondary we have ever had.

Pride goeth before the fall and all that.

AB and Bell are the reasons I felt slimy rooting for this team during that era. I will NEVER like them, regardless of apologies
I truly thank Bell and Mike Wallace for rejecting the Steelers' offers. Definitely did us a huge favor.

Roth retiring helped significantly lower the d-bag factor as well.

I was never in denial that he was an asshole, because I heard a lot of first hand accounts about people who came into contact with him that were less than flattering.

I'm happy that killer B era or whatever it was dubbed, is over, even though I respected what Roth did on the field. AB and Bell were definitely cancers though and I just found myself pissed off whenever they would score.

I just hope Pickens doesn't become their next diva Wr, but it seems hardwired into the position.

Hopefully he is more Ward diva than full on crazy like AB.

Well deserved for Highsmith. He and Watt are the best past rushing duo in the league.

Locking up a 25 yr old coming off a 14.5 sack season and who lead league in FF for 17m per is a big win to me.

Now they have another set of dominant bookend OLBs to wreck havoc for the next several yrs.

Those two need to stay healthy and perform this season. The team is pretty much stacked, so excuses are limited. A ton of this seasons success is going to come down to KP and Canada.

I’m trying to convince myself Canada is like a young QB that hits his stride in year three.

Then I laugh at myself for being a dumb ass.

Highsmith and Watt need to stay healthy. Both of them go down that is like 50m out of the lineup.

Najee is starting to sound like a moron

"The Steelers running back took to Twitter to vent frustrations after the New York Giants’ Saquon Barkley, the Las Vegas Raiders’ Josh Jacobs and the Dallas Cowboys’ Tony Pollard all failed to reach long-term deals with their teams before the NFL’s deadline for franchise tagged players to negotiate extensions"

I don’t have any issues with what he said.

RBs prob take the most abuse of any player on the field and now the league is devaluing the position.

So I get their frustration of getting all beat up and then tossed aside.

On the other side of the coin, NFL has always been a meat market.

Eh I get the frustration from him. If I’m a running back I’m not exactly thrilled with how things are going.

How dare GM's in this league recognize that RB's are essentially fungible and production can be replicated by others at a fraction of the salary!

The number of adults who don't understand basic economic principles is frighteningly prolific. Sad to see our starting RB is among them.

I dont think he sounds like a moron.

RBs get a pretty raw deal. Most of their prime is used up in college and while they are under rookie deals. They dont have the ability, no matter how good they are, to really cash in the way every other player does.

Not to mention, now that they are being devalued in the draft those first deals aren't as lucrative either.

They are getting screwed on both ends, while ramming their head into 350 lbers for 3.5 yard at a time

Yeah if was a 3rd Wr he would make 10 million a year if he was a number 2 Wr its closer to 12 million as the floor. It’s kinda why Bell wanted to be paid as wr and rb

You have a totally different mindset with defense and defending the run now. You don't see the massive NTs, the dominant run stuffing ILB/MLBs, the close to the line of scrimmage box Strong safeties from years past. No, instead you see more and more small players geared more to playing the pass, pass rushing with run stuffing an afterthought, is it last on the list.

98% of people, no matter how much effort, won't ever sniff C1 NFL minimums of $800k per year(?).

RB's can bitch and complain all day, but they're crying about C2's averaging $6M+, at least, for elite guys. Neither they, nor their "family", will ever want for "food on the table".

I get it. It's just they risk looking like complete assholes expecting sympathy complaining about lifetime earnings 99%+ of the population will never see.

this should make a rb even more valuable. and a golden chance for a oc to take advantage of it.
