Other football stuff: my beloved LA Galaxy advance on an arbitrary and utterly ridiculous rule, tying the Seattle Sounders 2-2 on aggregate (1-0 @ LA; 1-2 @ Seattle) but advancing on away goals, and will host next week's MLS Cup against the New England Revolution.

I suggest yinz all root for the Galaxy because a.) Landon Donovan's last game ever and b.) **** Boston sports.

Crazy way to decide things for sure. :

MLS Cup is at 3 eastern (probably starting closer to 3:30-4) on ESPN.

Not sure if putting it head-to-head against the NFL is the wisest move...

This Steelers team is very easy to ignore...I'm not exactly heartbroken

I'm more bitter about waking up early to go to a sporting event. I'm going to be heading out in a bit because of the utterly ridiculous parking situation at StubHub Center...who builds a pro stadium in the middle of a tiny college campus? Woe is me, right?

I'm unusually optimistic for some reason today. I suspect Steelers will play a good game and win, only to get blown out at home when they play the Bengals again in a few weeks.

Because you know, nothing is different between now and then. But I suppose that's part of the Steelers problems: they think because something worked x amount of years ago it can still work now.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Steelers today too, for some reason this Bengals team doesn't scare me much. And sure, there is a CHANCE they can win at least 3 of these last 4 games, but odds are they'll need all of them with how the AFC looks.

As for the MLS Cup, didn't know you were going to the game, Big. That should be a blast. I'll be at home attempting to make use of dual monitors.

I don't know if the defense is actually playing that great or the Bengals offense just looks bad. They are constantly trying 3 yard plays on 3rd and long.
