Tuitt already plays a lot at this point. He's listed as the starter at his position. He played 81% of the snaps last week in Atlanta and 85% of the snaps the week before against Cincinnati. Not sure what his snaps were today but he's playing a lot lately.

Ahh. I work Sundays so I barely get to watch the games. That's good to see though.

for all the talks of parity in the NFL it seems a lot of the same teams make the playoffs in the AFC for the last 15 years :P

New England
Indianapolis
2 of pittsburgh/cincinatti/baltimore
1 of sandiego/denver (pretty much guaranteed to choke)
and last one of the other teams who are overachieving for a season (that aren't the browns, bills or raiders)

I always look at the AFC like this

since 2001-2002 Super Bowl appearances:

01-02: Brady
02-03: Gannon
03-04: Brady
04-05: Brady
05-06: Roethlisberger
06-07: Manning
07-08: Brady
08-09: Roethlisberger
09-10: Manning
10-11: Roethlisberger
11-12: Brady
12-13: Flacco
13-14: Manning
14-15: Brady, Manning and Roethlisberger, Flacco all in contention and arguably both Brady and Manning are the favorites to appear in the Super Bowl again.

Pretty crazy! The AFC has only been won 2 times by a team other than the Steelers, patriots, colts, broncos and ravens since the 95-96 season (Raiders and Titans both over 10 years ago). In fact, one of the above 5 was also the runner up 11 times in that same span. Parity my ass haha.

And Flacco **** the bed again today. The guy parlayed one good year into an outrageous contract. Can't see anyone other than Brady or Manning going again this year.

Nice win today. The D-line has gotten better. I still hate the fact that we have to resort to Harrison playing LB, but he was actually OK today.

I thought the O would carry them to 9 or 10 wins this year, then backed off of that because of some of the earlier debacles. There's still some hiccups as far as finishing goes, but the D has come along a little better than I thought. Making the playoffs is a good achievement for this team. If they can find some help in the secondary next year (and if Jones can have a comeback year), they could have a shot at going back to the SB.

Win next week and not only do we clinch the division, the Colts are handing us the #3 seed as well. If you would have told me that a few weeks ago I would have said your bat **** crazy.

Bengals-Steelers flexed to Sunday Night Football next week. Hopefully the Bengals continue their tradition of being the Bungles in primetime games.

Steelers would get blown out by the Pats or Broncos in the playoffs. Elite, but inconsistent offense.....very iffy defense.

But I'm still happy they're going. Exciting times!

If you knew anything about the Pittsburgh Steelers you would know that they RARELY get BLOWN OUT, especially in games that matter. Thanks for playing though:help:

True statement, but the Patriots would absolutely clown the Steelers, and have been doing so in postseason play for the past 15 years.

Funny how the only team in the AFC who I think could take out the Patriots probably won't even make the postseason (Ravens).

Patriots are not battle tested. Let's wait and see

The Steelers' secondary is going to have a hard time going up against anyone they see, let alone a quarterback and offensive system that's torched them for the past 10 years.

I'm much more fearful of the broncos then the Patriots.

I don't think the Steelers go on the road and beat either of these teams for what it's worth.

I am not too prideful to eat a little crow. A lot of players had to step up for this team to do what they did, with what seemed to me to be a toxic mix of too many too old or too young. And the Steelers did just that, stepped up as a group. I honestly did not see it happening and predicted a five win season. They are not one of the favorites in the playoffs, but they certainly proved that they belong there. I was wrong earlier this year. Mea Culpa.

Harrison was a beast yesterday.

"And man alive, there needs to be a special mention for Harrison and his seven tackles, 1.5 sacks, two other tackles for losses and two quarterback hurries. He’s 36 going on 26.

“It’s not me. It’s God. I’m old and slow,” Harrison said with no trace of a smile. “God’s driving the bus, and I’m just riding.”"

Okay lol. Whether they get blown out, or lose by 1, they'd still lose. So that's irrelevant.

Nice try to prove me wrong though?

Something I love about the heart of The Steelers. You can never count them out, ever. They can be mediocre one week and look absolutely amazing another. I think the key is consistency and finding the right pieces. This defense isn't what it once was but they can put things together when it counts.

If Cinci wins next week... there is a high percentage we go in and play them again, right?

This has been one weird inconsistent year, but who cares? We are dancin' in the playoffs and that gives us a small chance.

I've argued all season this team has talent, but it's the coaching holding them back. I felt this was a season they might make the playoffs, but I was looking at it as a year in which the young guys get experience and next season being the year they can compete again.

Their secondary is woeful and they are building a nice front seven, even though I'm not sure what to think about JW and JJ. The offense is among the best in the league, with the triplets and the line coming together.

Coaching is still a big concern in my book though.

Brady and Manning will pick apart DL bend but don't break scheme all day. Haley is the one guy I wasn't as down on as others, but I think the playoffs will help shed some light on where he is. Until I see otherwise, Tomlin will always be a guy that talks a bigger game than he coaches.

If Tomlin can go into a Denver or NE and out coach his counterparts in that situation, I'll give him props. However, I haven't seen anything this season that suggests he is capable of such feats.

Barring a playoff meltdown, I'm pretty happy with how this season has gone and it went right in line with what I had hoped for (young talent emerging, making the playoffs).

^^ Tomlin is my biggest issue. Well and Colbert. I think Tomlin is exactly like DB.

They were talking yesterday and they said they asked Tomlin about any changes to our defense and he said "nope" and then another part of the broadcast they asked if Big Ben was playing any different this year and Tomlin said "nope". Like I know he wants to come off cool, but that's the way he coaches. He just expects things to be different. It's a very "get to our game" mentality and kills me.

Good coaches will probably rip this team apart. But hey.. we are in the dance. That's all that matters. Get the wins and move on. But ultimately I do not think Tomlin is the best coach for this team.

Yep. The snap count vs. KC is in and Tuitt played 85% of the snaps again this week. That's 3 straight weeks getting over 80% of the snaps.

It seems they've finally figured out that Cam Thomas can't play much. He's only played 26%, 18% and 21% of the snaps the past 3 weeks.

I have made the Tomlin/Disco comparisons in the past as well. They are not bad coaches overall, or better said could be very good coches. But they have stubborn streaks which make them make the same mistakes over and over and never seem to learn from them. I do not think that either is inherently stupid or lacks ability to coach, merely ego and being too stubborn to learn keeps them forever flawed.

Nice. Good to see. Gotta have them young players play and develop.

Don't forget to mention early success. That's not necessarily a good thing for a developing coach. I'm sure it fed a lot into their egos
