The only choice sitting at 21 is to go with Fields.
In the unlikely event that he finally gets it together, great. If not, please crash and burn.
The Steelers are stuck, and so are we, until they can have a more reasonable chance at a quarterback at the top of the draft. Top ten pick for sure.

The pats will be extremely busy in free agency rebuilding the o line and the roster
I don’t think Cincinnati can afford Higgins and Chase plus retool the defense
I wonder whether the Chargers might make a play for him. Don't know their cap situation, but there's a team that needs some results now that are short of weapons.

if he was smart, he'd go to a team with a good QB in place. OLs are much easier to fix than a QB problem/offensive scheme problem that we have

Mconkey looks good, i think he's a great #2.

Bears are 5th in cap space. and now have a HC who knows the importance of the passing game. allen is just about washed, they could give caleb a couple of huge weapons on the outside with higgins and rome

Bears will invest heavily on the o line. Johnson coming over from the lions and they have 4 1st rounders on that o line. They already have DJ Moore
The chargers probably bring back Allen cheap and bring in Kupp cheap. They are still a run heavy team Slater is getting paid

I hope I'm wrong but if he was going to be fired he would have been by now. And really, does it matter? Not like any DC with any ability or ambition would come here and carry Tomlin's bags. At most Tomlin would walk down the hall and appoint Grady Brown.

I don't think Higgins cares as much about QB play as he does about who's paying him the most. That said, New England both has a top young QB, a boatload of cap space and a terrible WR room. They fit pretty much every aspect, to the point where I'd be surprised for Higgins to not go there. They'll offer him both the money and targets he wants. I think signing Adams is the best bet for the Steelers.
Also unrelated to the WR discussion, my friend has some connections inside both the Steelers and Pirates that have been proven accurate in the past. He mentioned last night that the Steelers love Milroe and are really hoping he falls to the late 2nd/early 3rd to take him. I'm not wild about using a 2nd on him, but taking Milroe at #52 and having him sit behind Fields for 2 or so years seems like something they're thinking about doing.

But yeah, my friend said a similar thing last night. Our chat was talking about what the Jets are going to do at QB since Rodgers is apparently returning for 1 more year, and they were talking about the Jets drafting Milroe to sit behind Rodgers. That's where my friend said the Steelers actually love him and are hoping to do that with a 2nd or 3rd.

You could give the team the best roster, best players and best everything. Tomlin will be outcoached or we will mismanage a game and it will cost us.
NE and GB (in the SB) out coached him by a mile. The team was not prepared and lesser teams whipped his ass.
So go ahead and propose any trade. Propose any dream scenario but the actual result will be the same.

And Dotson has 30 targets this season as a eagle. AJ had 110 and Smith 97. Goddert 62
We have Austin combined for 100 and Muth with 82. The free agent wr will take the 40 targets from Jefferson 15 that went to Williams m. But Wilson will see targets

You did this same crap last offseason to justify going into 2024 with Pickens, Friermuth, and a bunch of shit. It doesn't work this way. Injuries happen. You need multiple options to open up things for your primary targets. Simply assigning x numbers of targets to your top receivers and shrugging that it doesn't leave much so you're fine with Van Jefferson or Quez Watkins is how we got to this point.

I totally missed the "first round talent" part of that tweet from Poni, I think there is a zero percent chance anyone takes Milroe that high. He's purely a developmental QB that you're hoping you can take the raw athleticism and turn it into a legitimate QB. Hurts was a similar player type and had a significantly better senior year (finished 2nd in Heisman voting), yet Hurts still didn't go until pick #52.
Milroe probably shouldn't be higher than a 3rd rounder, he's closer to Malik Willis than Hurts right now. Willis went at pick #86, so Milroe should be going somewhere around pick #75. At that pick, I'd be totally good with drafting him and sitting him behind Fields if you think you can develop him.

How would they be redundant? Milroe is being drafted as their actual QB of the future while Fields is a stopgap.
They'd be taking Milroe to sit for 2 or 3 years and have Fields start, then hand the reigns over to Milroe (if he develops well).

Fields is 27 months older than Milroe and is far more accomplished and has a far greater pedigree and skill set. The odds on Milroe being a legitimate starting QB in the NFL are lower than Fields being one.

No I still saying sign a big time wr and if you want to draft a wr and trade Gp at the draft fine. However there’s nothingcm in Smith’s or Fields history they can support a 3rd wr so its a waste of money and assets a 2nd te is a better option than going Adams Gp draft Wilson Ca3

What? Fields is like 4 years older than Milroe. Fields turns 26 in March and Milroe just turned 22 back in December.
Milroe would be a high risk, high reward type of pick to take him in the 3rd round with the intent of developing him behind Fields. Am I confident it works out? No, but at the cost of a 3rd what's the issue? If you hit, you get your QB of the future without even having to use a 1st on it. If you miss, you only used a 3rd on him.
I'm personally not wild about Milroe in general after how bad his senior year was, but there's really no risk in using a 3rd or 4th on him and seeing if you can develop him behind Fields. Worst case scenario is that you just whiff on a 3rd or 4th, but they've done that plenty of times on worse gambles.

Ok and if you give Fields a 3/30!like Mitch or 2/25 like minshew and draft Milroe he can have a year to redshirt. Fields has never played 17 games in regular season and is viewed as a quality backup
