if we had our old ol coach i would feel a lot better

Yes definitely. But at least a couple of these guys are going to end up as viable linemen even by this year.

Plus the cap space and the picks. We would be foolish to not have our receivers on the market. They move mid-season.

Ben missing two legit TD's... you put Mason in there and see what the kids got. Its a lost season. Ben it's been fun but time to join Eli and Rivers in the press booth.

Oh man Kent Graham is so cooked out there. Someone give Benny his pocket sliders back... maybe it'll help.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

So one thing that will likely be overlooked, but if they end up 4th in the division by end of season. They'll likely have one of the easiest schedules in the league next season. A big reason why the cliche of worst to first happens so frequently in the league is the forced parity of the scheduling based on past season division records.

If they use their cap space wisely, somehow figure out their QB and oline situation, they could manage something next year.

Probably best in the long run to suck bad next year too though, but would be hard to do with said schedule and this defense. Unless they do something like trade away talent for picks and go full rebuild, but I don't know when the last time they did that was so wouldn't plan on it.

Yeah I don’t think they need to go full rebuild. They have enough young talent where it’s not totally inconceivable that you could do a two year rebuild. Focus on the offensive line, take a shot on a quarterback in the draft and start trying to compete again.

Its obviously easier said than done to find a franchise guy, but as soon as you take a quarterback you should be trying to compete. Whether they work out or not is a different story.

They don’t need full rebuild. They need to suck this season and get a QB.

These answers by Tomlin regarding what they need to do better are pretty funny.

He keeps mentioning the lack of splash plays, in reference to the two missed passes to Juju deep, in that they "need more detail in their play and that will lead to the splash that will get them out of stadiums."

My question is, what in the blue hell does that actually mean outside what it sounds like, which is "do better at football?"

What detail exactly are they not executing outside their QB can't throw accurately down field anymore?

When we're 2-6 the national media will stop yucking it up over how awesome Tomlin and the Tomlinisms are.

I'm excited.

Art will still be Art though. And no amount of humiliation will override his desire to run the team like it's still the 70's.

I think if the defense gets lit up some more it would put more heat on Tomlin.

The offense is bad, we all know that. But everyone gushes over our D - though we're starting Cam Sutton and James Pierre but whatever - and Tomlin is seen as responsible.

Apparently they should trade all their receivers - because reasons.

That will really help out the next QB for sure.

I still have a great fear they will rebound and push themselves out of the top 7-8 picks, but for now I’m enjoying the collapse.

That can certainly put them in range to get a new franchise guy. If he works out or not, that’s always a crapshoot like you said, but you can’t find the best guy by passively searching for 25 years again.
