This chart is what I'm referring to when I say QB15ish. Basically the top right quadrant = good. Fields is firmly in that good cluster, so I'm going to be setting the bar pretty high for Wilson.
Because it's still putting a square object in a round hole and won't be enough. The player doesn't have to be fantastic, but they do need to have the right skillset to fit the problem.
Russell Wilson makes his debut vs Aaron Rodgers and the Jets after they just acquired his old BFF Davante Adams... on Sunday Night Football. I don't think you can get a bigger microscope than this. If Russ plays poorly, this is all the talking heads on ESPN will be talking about for a week.Ah, it will a little, simply because there'll be less media coverage of it. For... a week? Two weeks? Think of it as our QB controversy bye week!

We need someone that can separate and win underneath, not another contested catch specialist. I'd only be interested at an extreme discount.
Im on the find a one year rental train and try and land Egbuka in the 17-22 range in the draftWe need someone that can separate and win underneath, not another contested catch specialist. I'd only be interested at an extreme discount.
Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley's contracts kinda suck, but that's the prototype of guy I'd be looking for.
Oh trust me they're going to be panning to a view of Fields on the sideline every 10 minutes, just like they did with Russ this past week.Talking about, sure. Talking about a change, the inevitability of Fields getting back in? I doubt it. It's going to be a different conversation.
The Jets defense is a hell of a game to try to shake off the rust. If the run game isn’t working and they need to rely on Wilson’s arm against their secondary, things could look rough.

Also, re the other 52 members of the roster
Chris Boswell Is On Pace To Make NFL History
If it feels like Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell is putting the ball through the uprights at a historic pace this season, you’d be right. Through six games, Boswell has been a busy man. An effective one, too. He’s made 16-of-17 field goals, only missing from 62 yards on an end-of-half...steelersdepot.com
I love Boz, but in a way I hate him. He is the enabler of Tomlin ball. Just look at 2018 when Boz was injured- Tomlin refused to change up his game plan and the Steelers went on a season-killing losing streak (including the embarrassing Raiders loss). Tomlin wanted to win with field goals even with a pre arm injury Ben and a much better overall offense.
If the Steelers would have had a Josh Scobee level kicker instead of Boswell, Tomlin would have been forced to either change his philosophy to emphasize scoring touchdowns or suffer a string of losing seasons. Boswell lets Tomlin be Tomlin.
so now the Jets are trading Mike Williams. If we dont get him or somebody else within a week or 2 im gonna flip my lid
Maybe I'm just seeing my own little echo chamber on twitter but the general consensus from people seems to be disagreement or confusion with the decision to bench Fields, and then Mark Kaboly applauding the move
It would make a lot more sense to me to give Fields up until the bye week and let Wilson take over after the bye, if you're going to go to Wilson eventually.
How did he misuse Pitts? Pitts is close to bust territory he was the most targeted skill player not named London. You do realize a better WR isn't really a need on a team that doesn't throw the ball much.
I mean, can we use an upgrade? Sure. But getting Christian Kirk or Hopkins or Williams isn't going to unlock some sort of portal to a lot more points.
Tomlin is the problem and the man he hired to run the offense is an extension of that. A guy who got fired in Atlanta, who misused Bijan Robinson. Who misused Kyle Pitts. Who's entire rep came from a prime Derek Henry and stellar OL in front of him, things we don't have.
This franchise is a mess because of Art Rooney deuce and his blind loyalty to a coach who hasn't won a playoff game since BARACK was in the white house.
Kirk is definitely someone they should inquire about. We need someone that can separate and win underneath, not another contested catch specialist. I'd only be interested at an extreme discount.

RW gets the ball out faster then Fields. They can use rpo hit on slants and curls like they did with Mason. Fields doesn’t attack the seems or take anything in front him.I'm kinda torn on Wilson starting, too, if that's what the plan is.
I think seeing how the offense operates with Wilson tells us something about Fields.
On the other, I think Wilson would have got killed last week and I don't care how they spin it to him, benching him is a hit to his confidence. If they have to go back to him, what's his head going to be like?
The offense will be different they will call more slants and screens under RW. Ca3 and muth will be featured more. We will see a ton of roll out dump offs to Washington and heywardNah, seems to be the case most places. General consensus seems to be that they think Wilson will die behind this line and the team doesn't have the WRs to make it worth having Wilson's vision over Fields' legs.
And most of the people who don't disagree view this as a case of 'why not try him since Fields isn't really making it work' rather than actual enthusiasm for Wilson.

We were the only team willing to give fields a chance to compete for the starting spot and he didn’t close the door on Wilson while he was playing
