He was pouting about not getting passes the drive before and you could tell he said "throw me the f***ing ball" after the DJ drop.

You're making up a scenario that Pickens was mad at DJ to try and absolve him of any criticism for throwing a hissy fit about not getting the ball.

Yeah, this. Pickens isn't pissed about the results of the play. He's pissed it went to DJ.

And I can almost guarantee he'll be more upset about his # of touches and ignore that the team won.

I’d rather have a higher draft pick than win this game lol...I don’t think Pickett and the offense showed any improvement from last game…in fact, I really wanted to see them salt the game away by getting points on the board in the fourth quarter and they failed to do much…

What a clutch punt by Harvin.

I just can’t be mad about a win even though it hurts their draft position. And if Lamar is out next week, they’re facing a very beatable Ravens team. Things may actually get kind of interesting down the stretch.

I can’t believe they actually did exactly what I was saying here on my couch, haha. I was like, 53?? Yea just pin em deep. Worked out.

Inching closer to .500. Our worst nightmare haha.

He held his left arm in the position DJ had the ball when he dropped it and screamed that he needs to hold on to the f***ing ball.

I'm not inventing anything. You are inventing a reason to be mad at Pickens for some reason.

Yes, I'm making up that Pickens was pouting on the bench for the previous drive and said "throw me the f***ing ball" after the DJ drop.

You sound like the kind of person who defended AB's antics because "AB is so good!".

Steelers mostly ran the ball in the second half trying to milk the clock.

Not going to see KP tossing for 300 yards or anything.

KP had a big half and then they played turtle ball.

It’s the exact formula Cowher used with Roth.

I don’t have a problem with it and they won and moved the ball to kill the game when they had to.

Yes, I am being unreasonable.

Not the person comparing Pickens to Antonio f***ing Brown because he is getting pissed about being under-utilized all year.

Like, you can never have actually played sports if you think somebody screaming on the sidelines is some sort of unusual happening that is a sign of serious issues.

I mean I don’t have a problem with it if you’re a contending team…since we’re not a playoff team, I’d rather see them playing to develop their QB lol

He's a f***ing rookie with well documented attitude issues. How you're trying to handwave that away because "he's mad about being underutilized all year!" is just idiocy.

The phrase "well documented" is doing heavy lifting here as your source is a totally speculative article from a local Dallas sports radio personality citing "wr coaches" without even telling if said coahces even worked with Pickens.

They let him throw it on 2nd down to get the 1st and trusted him not to run out of bounds on the boot that is part of development

Tom Brady is the most successful football player in history and he screams at his teammates on the sideline at least 10 times a season.

Pretty much. A win helps the locker room mindset and positivity probably aids development more than being down about losses.

But if somehow this team manages to win enough games to even sniff .500, how much self reflection and coaching overhaul do you really think is gonna be even half-heartedly entertained this offseason?

The offense is still widely inconsistent, especially come the 2nd half.

The running game has consistently performed the past what 5 games though? That's a good sign.

But I though Pickett actually regressed this game. He threw a nice td to heyward, but his stats were mostly propped up by Friermuth breaking a tackle for a long run after catch, other than that had a few other nice throws but way too many incompletions this week. He's still randomly underthrowing/overthrowing routes downfield. A couple noticeably wobbly.

Oddly enough I felt his downfield throws were actually tighter and better placed on his throws while out of the pocket on the run. The pass he threw to johnson right in the numbers 20 yards downfield while running was more impressive to me than any other pass today.

That said, he does seem to be progressing somewhat on his route reads each game, especially over the middle. Needs to continue to work on his accuracy.

I don't agree that the offense had issues in the second half. It only seems like the offense had issues because the Steelers only scored 3 points, but they only had 3 drives in the second half. One was a long FG drive, one was a 3 and out (the drive that Johnson dropped that ball) and the third drive was the end of game drive that was mostly focused on eating clock. I don't really have any issues there.

Both teams basically went into clock eating strategies in the second half, which mostly resulted in time consuming, run heavy drives.

Offense would be unstoppable if they stopped the jet sweeps and improved in the red zone.

This was the only negative I took away from this game. If their scoring drives would have been 3 TDs and 2 FGs instead of 1 TD and 4 FGs, they would have comfortably been in the lead the entire game. They were in a position to get 3 TDs, but they stalled out deeper in Atlanta's territory and had to settle for field goals.

He is developing, quite well. He was almost on pace for a 300 yard game at the half.

Lots to be encouraged with his development.

Tomlin is doing a good job with him so far and deserves props.

He’s won 7 SBs, so while it’s still not cool to me, that gives you more leeway than a guy with seven games and 500+ career receiving yards.

It’s concerning, no way else to spin it.

Hopefully Tomlin learned from the AB monster he allowed to grow out of control, and he shuts that shit down.
