Edmonton's a real hockey city. They don't give two Fs about that kind of stuff in those kind of situations. In terms of the refs calling a penalty, I double dog dare one of them to make that call and walk unescorted to their car, lol.

I wonder what the Mtl media would be saying if Yakupov was here and celebrated like he did. Boy, hate parade would have been on.

And I wouldn't (and didn't/don't) call those people real hockey fans. Full stop. Degenerates who bring together opportunity and agenda to gain exposure on the coat tails of a multinational corporation is all that is.

Over-powered. As in mind-blowingly awesome. As in exaggeration, but... :)

In all seriousness, if I had bet on the team I wanted to win every game tonight, I would have won a tonne on Pro-Line, lol. Just need Phoenix to hold off the Sharks to complete the set!

The first day of the season was horrible but we have had some great hockey since then. But maybe that's just in comparison to watching the AHL for a few months.

First thing that occurred to me also. Subban got trashed by not only local media, but national media also for a much more reserved celebration.

Correct be if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall some TSN types saying how Subban had to grow up. Same bunch are jerking off to what Yakupov did.

Makes me wonder...

Let's be honest though, only one of those goals tied it up with 4.5 seconds left in a 1-0 game. There is a difference in game situation there that means something.

Wasn't Subban's an overtime goal, or at least a late game winner? Pretty much the same from my vantage point.

You're right. It is strange.

I remember defending PK's reaction that time.

I think it's because of the teams and not so much the players. A lot of people hate the Habs for a lot of reasons and jump at the bit to bash them whatever the reason is.

OT against the hawks on a 4v3. Top titty baby on a one-timer a la Byfuglien
No it was against Calgary when he did the bow and arrow and everyone got mad

This

When yakupov celebrates its the best celebration ever but when subban does he's a classless piece of ****. I don't have anything against yakupov's celebration I just don't understand how subban gets such a bad rap for this stuff. Then again we'll see if anyone reacts to it tomorrow, but I doubt it, actually I think he's gonna get a lot of praise for it

Was that the one with 'the celebration'? Well then, no difference. Obviously I support that one as well.

My point exactly. A far as I see it, there is no difference, except in degree.

I can't help feeling the same mentality that applauds Yakupov and denigrates Subban is really looking at something other than an emotional hockey celebration.
