It’s possible that we will get another UT vs UK matchup this season.
And this time the Vols would win.... which would piss me off to no end. I still remember 1986 when UK played LSU 4 times... and won the first 3 but lost when a Final Four bid was on the line

And while we are at it... dont we have a Hogs fan on here?? WOO PIG SOOEY!

Kansas going out was the final piece of the puzzle for us UK fans... if we cant win we want to be sure Duke, UNC, Kansas and Louisville dont either. To outlast them all, even if just by one day, makes the season palatable

Yep! Although I'm not much of a basketball fan tbh.

The World Baseball Classic game between US and Venezuela tonight and it was a hell of a game. I know this last Olympics was out of their control but it really makes me sad that the NHL hasnt figured out a way to let a true international hockey tournament happen for so long.

Yikes. Just saw UK is actually a 3 point favorite today. That's just silly.

It's the same reason the Pro Bowl now plays flag football. The risk of injury in what would be a meaningless exhibition is too great in hockey, not so much in baseball. I cant believe they actually had a couple of World Cup of Hockey tourneys as it was.

Well that’s why you have to figure out how to make a tournament that is more than a meaningless exhibition. The Olympics are naturally that and for many players a gold medal is essentially on par with winning a Cup. Similarly, the World Cup means more than any other trophy in soccer. The WBC has struggled to get beyond feeling exhibitiony but the star power this go round has elevated it to feeling meaningful (like the US lineup is insane although the pitching is mediocre). That game last night felt as intense among the players and crowd as a World Series game. I think the Olympics makes sense for a best on best tournament but if the NHL wants to be in control of a World Cup of Hockey tournament then they need to do it regularly and avoid gimmicky stuff like Team N.A. that just feeds into feeling like a gimmick.

Glad Bama lost. Houston was overrated all year.
Pulling for Gonzaga now. They have been close so much, time for them to get the big prize

so been a tough baseball season for my senior pitcher. Only 4 starts on the season and the last 2 were injury filled.

What we thought was just a tricept pull turns out to be a UCL strain. He's been on steriods for a week, and has not thrown in 2 weeks. Hoping for a positive bullpen Friday, and a returning start the following week. sucks to happen his in his senior season.

You won't see this everyday.

WOW! Nope, not a statistic you see often, for sure. I remember there was a game when Mookie Betts was in Boston where the pitcher threw something like 25 throws for one at bat but I think there was a hit in there somewhere. Certainly not an entire game!

Don't say anything at all
With the Titans set to replace Nissan Stadium, its exact location can be used to build a retractable roof ballpark for the MLB expansion team that will inevitably come to the city.

However, this would mean the MLB team and the Titans can't play home games at the same time, since their stadiums would be next door to each other and thus share the same parking lot. This is the case in several other cities too.

I am adamant that MLB adopt a new rule requiring all new ballparks in the future be built with some sort of roof, with a retractable roof preferred so that games can be played outdoors when the weather is nice. Existing open-air stadiums would be grandfathered. The idea is to one day eliminate rainouts in MLB for good.

The fan shaped roof added $100M to Miller Park's $400M, but it was worth out. No rain outs, no snow outs. You can open the outfield panels on nice days with the roof open and you have an outdoor stadium. It will add $200M these days.

MLB had the Brewers open at the Cubs for the third time in the last four years. It should be the other way around, unless they want AmFam Field available for the White Sox, Tigers or Guardians if they need an indoor stadium due to bad weather. Usually, about 10,000 local fans show up to watch a game like that. Three years from now, I want to be one of those!

The plan for that development includes a lot more development of shops/hotels/etc. in the "exact location" of Nissan currently. Things could always change but I don't see them trying to build 2 stadiums at this time.
