I had a feeling the Titans might miss the playoffs but I didn’t expect it to occur in such spectacular fashion.

Hopefully Malik is their qb next season. Should guarantee another lottery qb dart throw towards the top of the next draft. Throw as many darts as possible at oline in this draft.

Definitely not a Tennessee fan, but being here most of my life it's hard not to root for them to do well.

That said if you are Tennessee fan don't forget the bad years and get back to the stupid arrogant stuff this fan base was full of back in the Fulmer years. Just like when Alabama inevitably makes their slide there is a reason people enjoyed watching Tennessee stink for many years, and that was due to the fanbase.

Pretty sure that will be true if any fan base where they dominate the local market. It is definitely not a ut only thing. I do think everyone has forgotten just how bad the Bama fan base has been since they have kind of transitioned from what you’re seeing from vols fans now to the smug super confident version we have today.

Oh trust me I haven't forgotten, I could never stand either fan base. The only time they are tolerable is when they stink.

I would argue that no team is immune to a little dumbassery. Vanderbilt released a commemorative DVD of their win over UT in a losing season many years back -- in a year when UT wasn't winning either. Exuberance and ridiculousness go hand in hand.

The DVD was made because it ended a 30+ year losing streak to Tennessee. They have not released one since. Vanderbilt fans did not claim after that season that they were the dominant football program in the state. Tennessee fans claim they are the dominant baseball program in the state now.

With my proposed 4-league MLB alignment that should coincide with expansion to Montreal and Nashville and new TV deals which add Paramount Network as a broadcast partner with their games airing on Friday nights, the first ever MLB game on Paramount Network (produced by CBS Sports) should be the first game in the history of the Nashville team, ideally at their home stadium.

The gap has closed but it was an insanely huge gap at one time. Vanderbilt was/is a National Championship winning program while Tennessee was barely making the SEC tournament. Now Both are winning programs but Tennessee fans act as if they’re the ones with 2 trophies in the case. Same thing in Football with their attitude towards Georgia and Alabama and everyone else. Where do you even have these discussions? I know a lot of Vols fans. I don’t know any of them who could tell me anything about the baseball program.

Most teams have a percentage of their fans which are obnoxious so the teams with larger fan bases have a higher absolute number of annoying fans. The more successful the more obnoxious too especially on the internet. In Tennessee’s case there’s also an element of being the butt of the joke for the last decade so there’s a pay back element to it too.

I know a lot of baseball fans in this area are just like me, they support the local kids on both teams. People that like to lump the fans of baseball in with the football and basketball fans don’t have a true pulse of most of the actual baseball fans. Ryan Mullens is a big Drew Beam and Chase Burns fan.

This is really the only reason I pay attention to either of the baseball teams. It’s more about supporting the local kids out of Murfreesboro than it is the university for me.
