Nice to see te US is still playing a wild game of musical chairs the day before game 1.

I suspect they are just testing all combinations to see which he likes. One thing is for certain, if they don't perform well, every US fan will blame the line combinations.

I agree that is likely the plan (and outcome). I would have thought that in a short tourney getting to know your linemates as much as possible would be advantageous.

Yeah with all of the time that management has had to make up this team and select the right players for the right roles, you would think they would have had the lines nearly set going into the first practice.

Kind of odd, considering how dead set they were against selecting certain players who didnt fit into their puzzle. Are the D combos set in stone at least? That might be more important.

Hank and Hags has their Olympic debut in 45 minutes, when Sweden faces the Czech Republic (Jagr, Plekanec, Elias, Kaberle, Hemsky, Vorachek, etc etc). Hank starts in net, Hags is in Swedens 4th line.

The other match today (also in 45 minutes) is Latvia - Switzerland.

How the hell did Hank win a gold medal i 2006 if this is his Olympic debut? :sarcasm:

can we make a thread of just a place for streams of the olympics?? most people do work during these games. it would be easier to find information rather than to look threw a whole thread... can we consider this???

Fantastic save by Hank on Rozival (of all people), 6 minutes into the game.

1 - 0 to Sweden (Alfredsson) after 10 minutes, in a 6 on 5 (delayed penalty).

Here's Hank's female counterpart btw

Sweden does look solid. I love how they all make similar decisions with the puck. Crafty.

Thats whats great about the Olympics. At this level you can really see the style of how each country/region teaches hockey. Even little subtle things.

the czechs look horrendous. sweden could set up a camp fire in front of the czechs net and hang out their all night without any resistance.

I didn't expect the Czech to compete for anything, but good lord do they look horrible. Well, at least that'll cause Hadamczik to get fired.

Sweden is absolutely killing them. If they continue to play like this, the Czech will have a hard time against the Swiss and the Latvians. I thought they'd make the QF quite easily, but I'm not so certain about that anymore.
