No. Our goaltedning sucked major ass in this game.

I just don't want the charts posted without any pushback at all because then we're gonna have the "this is why the analytics are bullshit!" shit posting.

The entire advantage we built in xG was in the third period with Columbus making dinner plans.

Sharks willingly walked into a rebuild and are walking away with 5 picks before the end of the third round this year. Our future is looking bleak compared to theirs, imo.

When they made it 7-3 we had a minor advantage already. Yeah, the 5 goals were overly flattering to us. But the goaltending we've had this year I'd say 80% of the time offers us no advantage at all, and probably 30-40% of the time is a complete detriment. Quick is hard to get mad at, he's a soldier, but an old soldier. Shesterkin is one of the biggest problems with this franchise. 8 years at 11.5M with an NMC. This is like when the Panthers were good but not great and Bobrovsky was complete shit. He got good when they built a juggernaut. But it'll be a lot harder to build a juggernaut with 11.5M on the books. Plus if we need to build a juggernaut why the f*** do we have an 11.5M goalie? This season is my nightmare as obviously bad goaltening is my pet peeve. I'm starting to agree with you that all goalies suck. And you're one of the few people that agrees with me that even Hank sucked in the playoffs. Amazing game 7 record and some very good series aside, he had some series where he was a no show and some games that would make Georgiev blush. But I digress today was another one of those games where we had no chance to win because of our goaltending.

This game was on the defense and Team Defense as a whole.

This team just can't defend a lick, in general.

They belong nowhere near the playoffs.

This loss feels like the final nail in the coffin of this season. I don't think you recover from that.

No, it's not a joke. 5 goals is legit but that's based on the score being out of hand. But 2 expected goals is legit, some breakdowns on D and every f***ing chance went in. I like the fact that you have actual data but it must be the data that's wrong.
 
Potentially hot take here because he has shown up on the scoresheet, but JT Miller has been pretty ass so far. Does not drive play whatsoever, boneheaded turnovers, and he's been dog shit on the PP.

His legs are cooked, it's so obvious. That's going to be an absolute albatross of a contract next year and the years to follow.

Also, Brennan Othmann is the latest disaster of a 1st round pick. What an absolutely horrid game. Kid is not a top 6 forward in this league and he doesn't have the ceiling for it either. He's a smaller, softer version of Will Cuylle. 3rd liner looks like his ceiling just like every other f***ing forward this team takes in the first round.

Props to Brett Berard for taking Lindgren's spot as official team Crash Test Dummy, glad we cashed on those opportunities he drew for us.

I've never hated a team more than this one. They are the New York Jets on ice.

Well that's fair. Defense hasn't been good but admitting that the goaltending has sucked is the first step to being realistic. With Quick I can't get too mad as he's pushing 40 and about to retire. What is he even making? Shesterkin is the one that is a joke. Greedy f*** that wilted like a flower when he got his contract,
