Not even close to that even

Pagnotta is probably a decent comp.
Pagnotta piggybacking off everyone else and when he doesn't he just throws crap at the wall and hopes it sticks, Morosi has broken some things, now to be honest I have a personal dislike for Pagnotta so my opinion is biased lol

Bandwagoner here, why would Ohtani choose the Blue Jays? What would Toronto have over L.A?
The Jays have a state of the art development complex in Dunedin (their spring training home). A number of things from that complex are apparently also being added to the Rogers Centre as part of the lower deck renos currently going on. Ohtani is apparently
very much into the science of pitching. Also, the Jays have a very good record over the past few years of keeping starting pitchers healthy over the past few years.

I blame Yamamoto. They want to do both at the same time and he's holding out for an extra 20 million

Public sports journalism for any official organization should require a license that can be revoked for misleading people. Only way you could solve this hack problem. Hopefully the idiots who lied and fed false information when they weren't even sure of it themselves are never taken seriously again.
Or fans could simply use some self restraint when reading such reports.

Would be funny as hell, if someone posted this plane will be flying from LA to Toronto at 9 am tomorrow morning and we do the same thing and end with just another person flying. Then on Sat night, another guy post the same thing but on Sunday only a few of us even bother to track and boom, Ohtani signed with the Jays at 6pm on Sunday.

Bichette's defense has improved quite a bit but i think the big thing with him is he'll be reliable, but then just have a stretch where he makes some of the dumbest "what the f*** was that?" type plays you'll ever see.

Best analogy i can come up with as a sports fan is TJ Brodie; Generally reliable but will have some absolutely eye melting gaffes. You just have to hope those gaffes don't come in crunch time.
The main difference being Bo young and improving vs Brodie who is old and declining.

LA definitely wins in the familiarity column. Spent 6 years just down the road in Anaheim and before this whole shit started the assumption was the Dodgers had a big edge because of being able to offer a competitive team for him to play on + being on the west coast. I can see why he'd want to keep it simple in that regard.

The other factor i think looms large in the pile of absolute nonsense thrown out in the last week or so is the people factor. Ohtani is known to be pretty tight with his countrymen who both travel with him (his translator especially) and travel here to cover his exploits. The sentiment among those people was that they don't want Shohei to leave the west coast. (presumably because it makes their job a bit harder)

Is it a dealbreaker? No, but given Ohtani is known to take care of those around him it definitely factors in at some capacity.

I could honestly see the nitty gritty of a deal playing out similar to what Kawhi wanted to stay in Toronto, with kickbacks/special perks for those around him, just not to the ridiculous level of "give my uncle a stake in ownership." or whatever the hell the Leonard family was requesting.

There's been so much smoke over the past 24 hours.

How can so many people be that off about the situation, just goes to show...

Still holding out hope.
